Default Moving to Jacksonville

I'm moving to Jacksonville and wondering where a good place to rent is. I'll be going to UNF and working about 15-20 minutes south of there, so somewhere in that general vacinity. I'll be going in for an interview this Friday so it'd be nice to know some places to look while I'm there. Needs to be at least 2 bed 2 bath and under $1000 a month. Of course the cheaper the better but I still want it to be nice. BIG plus is having a garage. Townhouse, condo, or home preffered, apartment is still ok though. Will be up there with my wife, so it needs to be nice, not just some college apt's.

i dont know what the rent was in tampa area....but for a grand and only looking for a 2/2 youll deff. find some stuff...

PLENTY of house's for rent in the 800-900 range

jacksonville's pretty big area wise.....westside=middle class/cheaper, mandarin=upper middle class/nice but cost more, southside=renters area/ working class hussle and bussle, beach=mix of all/ cost more but has many night/day options

NORTHSIDE=majority ghetto/ we keep them contained up there....sooo i advise stay away from

other then that welcome to jville....i think youll find it different...

I'm in Tampa. Been here since January. Switching schools to UNF and I'm getting married in August. A good bit of her family lives up there, a few of my friends are up there (none down here) good school, same program, better job (hopefully, find out tomorrow), better beach. Just an all around better decision as far as I'm concerned. I'll be moving first part of july.

I resent that remark!

Honestly the "North side" of jax is the fastest growing area in the city, its not the ghetto that we all remember, dont get me wrong its not all better yet, but if your looking for a nice new (rent or buy) home in quiet neighborhood, its nice up here.

I'd really like to live East of the St. John's river, South of Beach BLVD., and stay in Duval county, don't want to get into St. John's county. Where does that put me as far as price range/quality? Anyone know any place in particular that would fit my criteria?

Doubt it, I've got a lot of stuff going on right now. Getting married August 4th. I'll still be down here in Tampa until the end of June. Starting a new job beginning of July, then taking off the 30th until 13th. So doesn't look like a good time for me. Hopefully won't have the car by then Trying to sell it, if ya know anyone

There are condos galore along 9a up to Beach Blvd, towards the east end of Greenland Road where I live they have a huge subdivision with Townhomes, condos, etc. Anywhere here in Mandarin or Southside is usuallly pretty nice but along with that comes high prices, although since the market is slowing down prices are coming down nicely.
