Default Wow! ... they like my WS9 Hood

I couldn't believe I got these compliments on the hood in this current thread near the top of the forums (link below). Let me know what you would do to the car to make it look better. Definitely gonna' do the VHT Night Shades and blackout the markers and tailights. Maybe do the CETA design in the back in gloss black? Paint the spoiler solid gloss black? Maybe a custom design or something? Keep the hood mostly black and paint the ram air ducts red with install Blackbird Ram Air stripes I have in my garage? Any ideas are appreciated.

well the hood does look badass in black. i dont know about painting the rear spoiler black alone. i wouldnt do the hood grills red.

i would definately do the ceta glass black. sidemarkers i would smoke them not black them out.

the only way i could see having the spoiler painted black is if you painted the sail panel and trunk lid black as well and have some black on the top side of your fenders. like a tow tone look.

but definately ceta glass black! and smoke the side markers.

I could be wrong, but I think that is the hood that came on the 02 Firehawk...maybe that's where the WS9 came from??

Definitely smoking or blacking out the side markers on the car along with the rear tailights. The backup lights will get lightly smoked, but, I think blacked out wouldn't look good for reverse lights.

So, here are a couple of questions:

1. Blacked out or Smoked. If smoked, how heavy?

2. Hood grills ... what color? Silver? Tombstone Gray? Red? Suggestions?

3. CETA gloss black for the back?

4. What else needs to go black? Mirrors? Sail panel? Spoiler? Door handles? Trunk deck? Suggestions?

And if you run accross any pics of a particular car that's red with a black two-tone scheme, please email them to jbrumley@cfl.rr.com. Appreciate any replied and help trying to figure out waht to do with the paint. I don't wanna' step back after it's finished and wish I'd done it differently, so your comments are very important to me.

Sorry to stand out but I think it looks bad being black. I like the hood, but not painted a different color than the rest of the car. It doesn't flow at all with the rest of the car. Black taillights are also ugly IMO. I do like the CETA though

How is the fitment on the hood? Are the gaps like the factory hood or are they bigger?

He quit making them after he sold the design to SLP. He just recently started making them again. I've had mine for ahwile, so, maybe I'm not the gay blade here brother. When did you buy yours?

Fitment for mine was good ... as with most regular factory hoods, it takes a little time to get the hinges, latch, and headlight covers adjusted just right. I bought the US Exotics because it was known for it's good fitment. Took me about an hour to change it out ... another 30 minutes to make all the necessary adjustments. I weighed though and it's actually about a pound more than the stock steel hood. Looks like you could take a lot of meat out of it, though, on the underside.

where did you get the hood? as in do you have a website link? i'd like to eventually get a WS6 style hood, and i'd seriously consider that hood. if i buy a hood, why just get an OEM style? i think i may even like that one better! sweet hood for sure!

Roger, who owns US Exotics, sells them on Ebay with a Start Bid of $600.00. Once the auction ends, he makes the hood for whoever wins the auction. I had mine in less than 10 days and the shipping was not too much, either. If you give him a business address to ship to, it's even less money.

You can ask others on here about him ... he's the bust guy I've ever done business with. He'll email you back and forth and PM back and forth to answer any questions you might have. He'll take your phone calls and chat with you, as well.

There are also some pics of other cars with his hood on them at the link above. You can also order the Ram Air type taller lower airbox for I believe $75.00 from GM Parts Direct. The hood clears mine well.

thanks for the link, jeb. it's greatly appreciated.

that being said, does he only sell them on ebay? i'm not 100% comfortable buying high dollar items on ebay. i'd be willing to pay a little more from a normal site, so that's not an issue. if he only sells them over ebay, i'll still consider it. me buying a hood is a wayyyys away, but i like to have as many options as possible.

staringback05 > I commented on your car in a previous post, but, after viewing your F-Quick page, it has grown on me to a point that I think I like it a lot ... especially in the back. Good lookin' ride man!
