14.1 . . . i suck
on the track temp and prep, anf if I'm on my game that day.
Remember not to heat up the tires too much, they will only get greasy and just spin off the line.
Like the old saying goes "Practice makes perfect". Good Luck in the future.

I made a few suggestions in your drag racing section thread as well.

1st time ever drag racing at Bithlo on Nitto 275/40R/17's with cold tires/hot weather:
60' > 2.4x
ET > 13.47
MPH > 112.X
2nd time ever drag racing at Bithlo on MT 315/35R/17's with cold tires/hot weather:
60' > 1.70
ET > 12.214
MPH > 112.X
Not sure what happened the 2nd time out. Gaining 7/10th's on my 60 ft time didn't put me at more MPH and most say mine just doesn't have the power to pick up more at top end.
With new 1 7/8" primary American Racing headers (future goals) going on in a couple of weeks(currently have MAC-mids), I should get better topend and mph.
I figured if 8-sec cars are cutting 1.2x-1.3x 60' times on the same tires I had (MT 315/35R/17's) with about 1/2 the HP, I can get good 60' times with a 275 width ... bought lighter tires/wheels and dropped about 20 lbs of rotating mass, which should equal 100+ lbs of dropping dead weight.
I'll see if this helps me improve overall times and will let you know if you're interested. So, I suck worse than you considering all the work that's been done on my car. As most have said, either spin the tires just enough to get the grit off and launch real easy, OR, get some Drag Radials and do a smoke show and get behind a couple big slick cars and launch in their groove.

Hoping for high 13's Friday, but m 60 foot is even worse than yours at 2.6-7.
