Default Nw Florida Drag Strips?

I am having a little trouble finding a 1/4 strip anywhere near NW Florida. I live in Fort Walton Beach and the nearest strip is Holt, 1/8th mile. Is there one anywhere close. Within a couple hundred miles?

Gainesville and Cecil (SGMP) are a good 4 hours from you.
Montgomery AL is 3 hours away.

Try checking here for NHRA tracks: www.nhra.com/tracks/tracks.htm

Amount of land needed to build a 1/4 mile track and shutdown is much more than 1/8 mile, and with some land values as high as they are they have been shutting tracks down for the land already. I much prefer the 1/4 over 1/8, but something is better than nothing.

Yep they will shut down tracks then bitch about people street racing. Sweet!

I heard sunshine has been a 1/4 track on occasion in its life, don't know why they keep running it as a 1/8th, looks like the rest of the track is still there.....

Sunshine was 1/4, but I heard from quite a few racers that more than a few years back Don Garlits made a hit there and his chutes failed and he eclipsed the end of the shutdown (no catch net or sand trap that I saw 3 years ago) and ended up on the main road. 1/8 mile since then (but with a good amount of shutdown now)
