Matt, is there a reason you want 1.8's??? The extra lift they supply with a stock cam isn't going to gain you squat. Plus you'd also want to swap valve springs while you're in there.

Not only that, honestly for $300 you can pick up a different cam if the one that is in there is not what you want.

Tune it, and see what you get. If the power band is too high, pull your cam and sell it. Buy another one. Maybe I am way off and you will be ok, especially if you are willing to sacrifice down low for the top end.....

I found a good deal on some crane quick lift 1.8 rockers. I am going to dyno the car without and see where i'm at. And go from there. If i'm not anywhere close to my goal I will pull the cam. Or put the rockers in.

I did a cam swap a few weeks ago 232/240 .551 .551 117 lsa. Trying to get close to my goal of 400 to the wheels (m6 car) Got the 1.8 rockers to up the lift to get some more power. We shall see with the dyno this week.

You're not going to find much out there which are lighter than stock ... unless you pay major money for an all-out race version. The Yella Tera Ultralites are somewhat lighter, but even with a perfect wipe pattern, they'll do good to net you 2-3. If you have to use thicker shims to achieve aa ideal wipe pattern, then, you end up having to purchase longer pushrod.

Good luck Matt. I just ahd a set of YT Ultralites in my hand and figured by the time I get them installed and buy new pushrods, I'd be better off just saving for a nice set of Aerospace Street-n-strip brake kits for the front and rears, which would give me 40-50 lbs of mostly rotating mass ... a Lot better investment, IMHO. Good luck ... whatever route you decide to go.
