does anyone know why the scheduling is still being done years in advance?it made sense back in the stone age but now at least the non-conference scheduling should be done maybe a couple years in advance.
#222
there has to be scheduling years in advance due to television, sponsors, alum meetings, media, etc etc.
#223
i think its just the ncaa not wanting to change wih time.i'm pretty sure all that can be taken care of within a year or 2.i just think it would make for better non-conference football to schedule them a couple years in advance because 2 great teams now wont fall as far from grace in a couple years rather than 5 years in advance.um/uf game this year.when i heard abut it back in 02 or 03 i was thinkin clash of the titans.it was a good game but they're not on the same level as they were back then.

The contracts between the teams are done years in advance. When someone backs out of a contract, or an opening happens, then they will schedule one year contracts. That's the way it worked on the team I played for. We even had one team jump out of their contract two years early, due to us pounding them every year. They still owed us the money, of course.

Or they can just let them play and get blown out. 3 major blow out NC games in a row might be enough to get rid of this BCS bullshit and at least have a 4 team playoff, at least.

damn bro. looks like we got a little west virginia back stroke going on here. couple weeks ago we wouldnt make it threw the teams you had listed and now you want to include the sec and bowl game in our little bet. its all good tho, i'll throw down $100 that the Gators dont lose 2 more games this season. i can always use some extra $$$ after the holidays.

UCF! UCF! UCF! ........oh wait they blew a 10 point lead to a crappy ECU team. That was one of the worst games I've ever attended(Wake Forest vs. FSU was equally as shitty). This school has horrible team spirit as well, all week they broadcasted a whiteout and guess what, like 1 in every 5 people had white on. What really pissed me off at the game was the vast amounts of hippies who were sitting in the student section campaigning for Obama. I was so irritated by them chanting "Obama" that I threw my half eaten shitty cheeseburger at them along with countless mini-bottle of jacky d.

You know it's November-December when the championship comes into almost every conversation about football. Still a long way to go, upsets happen as we've seen. But it'll be a good battleground for the next 4-5 weeks.

I just think that the Big 10 going to the National Championship again would be a joke. The past two years are a perfect example of why they shouldn't. They just can't compete with the best in the SEC. They may have a shot with the way Big 12 defenses play, but their offenses would overwhelm the Big 10 as well. If PSU goes undefeated and all of the other major contenders lose a game or another game then maybe they deserve to go.
I would like to see PSU vs. UF just because my sister goes to PSU, I would love to rub it in her and her boyfriends face after they get waxed.

i hope the BCS keeps providing shitty championship games and there is more and more problems with it... b/c then there would be more hope for a playoff... i dont understand why the dont do it now... keep the bowl system for everyone else, take the top 16 teams, have the first round at the top 8 seeds' schools, and the remaining 7 games at the top 7 bowl sites... its pretty damn simple, and it would make so much more money than the current system...

WVU and Penn State had great games, lol. Florida won big, or was until they decided to throw in 3rd-4th string and let Vandy start doing something. Should be interesting to see if Florida jumps Texas, doubt it though. They might jump Texas when TT loses to Oklahoma, then Texas' loss to TT will look worse.

Alabama escaped, Texas Tech looked good pounding OK, and UF had a great first half. We definately need to work on the back-ups b/c that looked shaky at best plus Vandy figured out a few things.
We've got a date in Georgia one month from now, but still need to finish business with SC and FSU.

We still have Georgia to get by.....errrr....scratch that. We still have Vandy that might come up and bite us......errrr....scratch that. Well, there's still FSU....errr....wait, they're about as consistent as Miami has been this year. Oh yeah, we still will have to play the SEC Championship against Alabama.....errr....wait, they just eeeked by a team in overtime we beat 51-21 and "lost all of their D" and is a "bad team". Well hey, UF still haven't proven themselves yet! Not like the way WVU has proven themselves!
