I know you want to go faster Hunter. I think Wormboy is running an LSX block. Proven setup. They are running mid 7's. If I am not mistaken the NMCA rules makes you weigh arond 3400 pounds. If you go with a Warhawk block you can't run in the LSX shootout either.

You'd be hardpressed to find anyone running low 8's or faster who is running a 4bolt setup and who's not pushing water on every pass.
I'd go 6 bolt LSX or ERL, and then you won't have that problem.

We will have the cut-away of a stock LS2 vs. our 6 bolt SD1 at SEMA and PRI if you make it there. Sorry, It wasn't finished to make it to Memphis and that we left Sunday and missed you. We had a long drive back to be back in Monday. It was great getting to meet a lot of people in person and see some good racing.
Just to clear the pricing question and compare apples to apples, With a good core the basic aluminum SD1 6 bolt block with the trusses, heavy ductile sleeves, decked, bored, honed, align honed, machined for 1/2" head studs is around $3100. If you want everything including doweled billet main caps, main studs, clearanced for a stroker crank, hydraulic or solid bronze lifter bushings, then your around $4200.
