Default Turbo Theory books?

Well Im tired of just picking up second hand knowlage, and Im ready to start really getting into turbo systems and figuring out why and how what works. The mechanics are the simple part, but I want to know more about Ar ratios and how different run differently and why they do so.

Are there any good books out there?

Corky Bell has a couple of books he wrote, his books are all about math and science of how turbo systems work, no hype.

I just picked up "Turbo" by Jay K Miller last week and I'm currently getting a Physics lesson! Seems like a good book though. I'm trying to plan out my next project.

Maximium Boost is a great book and will teach you the "correct" basics. I've had plenty of the top names in the turbo business say **** that just makes me shake my head. For example, Wastegate placement does not matter on a Twin 88 427" SBC.

I like his 375ci TT..1100 HP street engine with a 2yr warranty. Pretty badass engine. And thats just 91 octane pump gas, it'll go WAY more power with race gas and turn up the boost. I spoke to them about 1 year ago and IIRC they said it'll go 1,600 hp.

I just got Jeff Hartman's 2007 book "Turbocharging Performance Handbook" because I was so impressed with his engine managment book ("Tuning and Modifying Engine Management Systems"). The turbo book is excellent as well, and if you got Corky's book and this, you'd have a great start on turbo resources for less than $80.
