It all depends on your power goals and packaging them on your car.
Some cars are easier to package small twins versus a big single.
Check the flow ratings/compressor maps of some turbos to guide your decision of single or twins, then call your favorite turbo vendor to fine tune the specifics.
Turbos are rated at how many lbs per minute of air they can flow at a given pressure ratio.
You can go a little bigger on an automatic track car.
As a general guide, 1 lb/min will support 10 HP
(ex. my twin 66mm Borgs are good for 80 lbs/min each, so they could support up to 1600HP).
That is beyond what HP I plan to make, but my HP goal of 1,100~ is right in the sweet spot of the compressor maps so they should be very efficient at my power level.
The twin 38mm gates are fine, that is what I am using.
