These turbos are 44-46 lb/min at best. Were on the WAY right side of the map on these turbos. Maybe with race gas, some more timing, and a drivetrain thats a bit more efficient, we could make 900, but thats in a vacuum, where everything is perfect

We will probably putt around on this tuneup till we want more power or break a turbo ( Which seems to be often with them, unfortunately, maybe because were over spinning them, and they are just working too hard.)

Either way, Ill let you guys know if we make more progress with it

There is the map for these turbos. Forced Performance will be doing the upgrades when the time comes. They are Mitsu Turbo Specialists.

Well it might still hit 800rwhp just do it at lower boost levels maybe 15 or 16psi.

I am not overly worried as it was just a number that was shooting for with my auto swap. The car is not exactly slow now even at standard boost and would think have around 650rwhp now. I have lots of torque with the 408 and power even off boost with it. And it spools those turbos right now. Making for a great street powerband. And really JM hit 9s at 140 mph on his 402 so hardly say they don't work with a 402 or 408 and that was at like 12psi which would be plenty fast for me. I don't need to go low 9s or 8s to be happy with my 99% street car.

And can trade some ultimate and mostly unuseable power up top for as said more useable power down low and wider powerband.I would not give up my 408 for nothing and a 427 might still have been interesting.

At least we have some upgrade options happening from APS and from maybe forced performance and looking at a couple more angles on that as well.

Also am going to be running small shots of spray so if the turbos only give me 800 on the 408 or 750 or whatever can always just hit it with a 100 shot.

But glad to see more data coming in. Have all winter to figure out what I want to do with my setup.

That is a map for 20g td06 turbos but thought the standard aps were tweaked up a bit with different than standard wheels as they are claiming 50 pounds of airflow. Course there are some other options here like goign to bigger wheels and bigger compressor inlet same thing aps has done on their upgraded kit.

Its a standard 20G from what we can tell with the older turbine wheel. That flow is spot on.

The turbo upgrades- which will be the new FP 11 blade turbine wheel and an FP76HTA compressor wheel and modified cover, which will flow 63-65 lb/min.

Price will be 1050$ each turbo, and turn around will be 4-6 working days.

I will post more when I know

Killer results Louis. And to think the power that could have been made had I kept the kit for my TA. Nice to live vicariously through you guys.

So... is this something where we'd send in our old turbos to be upgraded, or get an entire new ones?

If I could get ahold of a set of turbos, I would do an exchange, but I dont think I can. I may be able to get a pair of Standard MHI Center cartridges, and you just swap that and send it back. Its basically a 35R at that point, just not ball bearing. VERY similar power output

Louis,

Congrats on the tune and results, very impressive. Looking forward to what she does on the new turbos I kbow I hit the same problem running out of turbo on mine and numbers were very similar and right at the same amount fo boost and same again where boost was faling off in the upper RPM range!

I have an Eboost2 on the way to try and see if I can go beyond my gate spring pressure in the upper RPM to hold 20 psi to redline to cure a boost dip in mine that won't tune out. thinking the gate is pushing open from back pressure. are you seeing that happen yet on yours?

Nice results. Have you/ the owner put any street miles on the car and have any reports? I had heard of some folks burning spark plug wires, what is your thoughts on that? Did you have to redo any of the kit?

It started to burn some wires, it just takes careful placement and the stock heat sleeves.

I will be measuring backpressure with in the next few days. I bet were up there. Were just fighting an oil return problem now. Hopefully get it sorted today so the owner can enjoy the car. Its turbo weather here in Texas

Well... mine are already packed in a box as though they're ready to be shipped somewhere, they just need a label. I could just send them your way. Is this a pair that you'll want to keep forever? Where I'd never get them back? 'cause I kind of want to get back into the game here

You can ship them to me if you want. I would feel more comfortable doing the R&D here, and having a proven setup that works with known gains, and then offering a setup.

Give me a call at the shop today if you want- 972-429-1963. Ill be on and off the dyno most of the day, so if you have to leave a message Ill return the call.
