347 APS Twin results 800/901
OK, well it was 795/900.04, but 800 is only a .25 psi away
Specs-
99 SS
Stock block
stock crank
Callies rods
Diamond pistons
Stock 853s
MLSs
LGM G5xT turbo grind
Stock LS6 intake
Stock TB
Lonnies bad *** fuel system x2 255s
60# Motos
Snow Meth kit
Exxon 93 pump
BASE APS kit, not the bigger turbos
McLeod Twin
Moser 12 bolt
Nitto drags on ZR1s
I have a 2 bar SD in it, and Im out of everything. Injectors are done, I was out of MAP resolution 3 psi ago....
This is OPEN Compressor inlets. At 15#s, we had NOT sucked them shut, but I had a free tech, so we pulled them off. Power gain was not much. 20 at best.
This pull was spiking to 20 psi, and out of steam and settling in at 15 . I need to work on the EBoost 2 settings to help see if we can carry boost a bit longer, but Im not sure if we can. I bet with the bigger turbos and some more fuel, this thing would make 900/1000.... on pump/meth!

Nice numbers. How much further do you think you can push it before the heads lift?

I think I can keep the heads on it even up to 1000 rwtq. Tuning is key though, and keeping the meth kit on it is a must. Were supplying ~ 75-100 hp worth of meth right now.
It is a 6 speed.
Exhaust is 2 QTP cutouts right on the hooker Y. It makes about 30 less through the borla, but its dead quiet
The stock crank has been 8.20s at 165 in harlans car, thats plenty of HP for me

60's making well over 800 at the crank, and it isnt even going lean on the graph? I know you can rob peter to pay paul, and go over 100% DC but it ussually shows on the graph.
Is this straight meth with big jet or jets? Could it make a full rpm pull without the meth?
Which turbos, or did I miss that?
You posted at the same time I asked.....I see the 80-100 hp of meth now....

I repeat my question. Why can't you run more base pressure to get more out of the injectors assume of course that its boost referenced regulator so at 58 its doing say 78 already how high can you go with these 60 mototrons. Heard they can be run pretty high on duty cycle well above the usual 80 % recommendation and also they can take pretty good fuel pressure. I was likely going up on mine anyway to 79 high or maybe 96 low impedence so mostly just curious.

THere is no way I could support this power on fuel alone, the meth is a must at this point. Im on a single LARGE nozzle, FWIW.
Base pressure under boost is 85 Im not going any higher.
Turbos are stock APS 20Gs. Im looking into upgrades tomorrow. The turbine wheel is the older MHI unit, there is a newer wheel now, and the compressor side Im going to see what we can fit in it as well. I have 3 more cars getting these kits inthe shop right now, eventually someone will want to turn it up even more.
We MAY go to a 75#er, but Im going to see if we cant get some 88#ers and a driver box.

Louis I have two combos with 57's and heathy amounts of meth that make over 800 to the tires, so I know the boat you are in right now. They both run great and have been this way for about 2 seasons.

Before I was sure the turbos were done you should change out the gate springs to like 10 or maybe 12psi ones. I think the 7.5 might be the real reason you can't go past 15 or so and hold there. Most of the time you can't go much over double the gate springs and they are 7.5 springs standard.
Something to try before you try modded turbos.
Also might still be some hp there with afr and timing. Getting another 50hp might still be doable there and 850rwhp would be about 1000 engine hp which would jive with the potential stated numbers of 50pounds per turbo per minute which usually gives around that number times 10 in engine hp. And you are also running a 12 bolt so imagine that is eating up some power. Few other tricks would be curious to see what it would do..underdrive pulley possibly and would be curious to see what effects better heads like some afr 205 or different intake like a fast 92 would do to the graph and numbers. Course would expect to make same power at lower boost if you improved flow thru the engine. And of course be nice to see bit bigger injectors effects.
Changing out center cartridge for better improved one is an option but also think the inlets being 2.5 inch is problem and sure the aps upgraded kit goes to 3 inch inlet .Which requires that msd aps starter.
Looking foward to your results with the various things you are trying and are any of those cars a 402 or 408??? Stilll very curious to see what the turbos can do on the bigger engine sizes. Would mostly expect to see max power at 12 or 15psi instead of higher up on the 346. Have seen a gto do think it was 800 on this forum.Forget if it was stick or auto.
APS did have a post on here, a nice dyno with their forged 346 but forget now if that one was with the tweaked wheels . Not sure about inlets.
Their build was forged 346 with fast 90/90. ling gt11 cam, afr 225 think 62cc. Made some great power too. Alc injection as well. They even gave afr and timing specs.
We have seen these turbos boot way over 20psi in dsms so really would think they could hold 20psi steady even if the power would start dropping off as they hit max airflow.
Can't airflow be read on scanner to see what they are doing. I can read airflo on my dsm haven't tried it yet on my 99ta. This is a good indication of how the turbos are flowing and how much they have left. And its a simple thing to read. But not sure if you can do this for two turbos? I have only done it for single turbo on my 97 talon.

Had a thought. Could you not carefully run no line to the gates to see if the turbos can hold at higher boost levels just for testing. That might help show if you need bigger gate springs to hold higher boost levels steady.
