should have just went ahead and bought an ls1! the block is what like 20-25lbs lighter? Well either way its still gonna be a bad *** car!
OH! and now that you arent gonna be cam only i might have a chance for the cam only record after i beat the bolt-on record since you arent gonna destroy it any more! Thanks! lol
What are you gonna do to the 5.3 internals wise?

i gotcha beat. 140,000 mile takeout. 5.3L 2004 silverado. customer complained it was making valvetrain noise and wanted a motor... (kinda sounded like a 5.3 to me, ive yet to hear a silent one) so i paid 100.00 and kept the core

The aluminum short block LS engines are about 55lbs lighter than an LT1. I'm pretty sure the rest of the engine parts are considreably lighter.

just curious, what are you gonna do about the the gap between the hood and where the cowl used to be, are you gonna just leave it open. I read you said you were getting a sonocco hood, what exactly is that and does that come all the way to the glass? Im a total newbie to F bodies, i like the added room with the cowl panel removed, and was thinking of possibly doing that myself. Your car is looking good.

im not hatin on ya, i can see where your coming from, id feel the same. But put this into perspective, i sold my engine for a $1000 and bought this one for $340. A cam alone in this will make more power then most H/C lt1's. And no more opti, or shitass obd1 computer to try and get someone to tune, 15deg. heads, 6bolt mains and the list goes on.

You are right BUT the headers are coming with the turbo kit, if i stuck with the lt1 i needed a $2000 fast computer (to do it right and loose the opti) so a $80 stocker is a lot cheaper, needed a harness for my car anywasy, motor mounts yes, with my rad. mounted upright i needed radiator hoses reguardless, free starter, i have a TB and ls6 intake for free, free MAF. So for me personially this is by far the best way out.
