Does it matter where the o2 sensor goes?

Default Does it matter where the o2 sensor goes?

Im putting together a c6/6.0 manifold turbo kit. The c6 manifold has the o2 sensor bung right at the flange.

Basically my question is,should i try and put the o2 sensors close to where they are stock? Or can i put the pass side front 02 in the c6 manifold?

Are the 02 sensors used in misfire calculations? If so then i would assume that where they are located would be important.

stick them where ever the bung is on the c6 manifold.

The most important part is where you are going to put your wideband, and that should be right at the exit of the turbo in the downpipe.

i would not use them & go sd. i do not believe they are used in misfire calcs, they are only used in closed loop fuel trims.

Speed Density doesn't have anything to do with the Narrowband O2 sensors. I would suggest running it in Open Loop though ( no narrowband O2s) as they will not like the leaded fuel that you will likely end up using.

i have one right after the manfild as in stock location and other is in the log. I ran CLSD for awhile and did like this setup. i have switched to OLSD for past 2k miles. i plan to go back to CLSD now that the tune is spot on.

I would place them as close to factory location as possible

I think it will work fine in the manifold or in the pipe after the connection. I put them in the pipe on my 6.0/c6 kit. You can use narrowbands in a clsd tune.

okay thanks guys.im going to try the c6 side in the manifold and the driver side right after the truck manifold flange. im starting to think its not going to make a big difference if they are within inches of stock locations.the wide band is in the downpipe
