Default Mocal or Shurflo for my rear mount build??

I have been doing some research and have seen both pumps used. they are both diaphram sytle pumps, the only differance is one has a Goelast diaphram and the other has a Viton. any advice would be great...

Neither. I've had the mocal. They sound like hondas with fart cans in your trunk. The diaphragm is likely to break down in a year also. Check the shurflo because many of them are not rated for oil. Spend a little cash and get a good gear driven pump. Engine gear online sells reasonable ones.

I checked with both Shurflo and (Flojet) they manufacture the pump for Mocal, they are both rated for engine oil.
the only reason i was looking at other pumps is i have seen many of the pumps supplied from sts fail and they are engine gear pumps.

Look at turbowerx.com. They have turbo scavenge pumps. I'm planning on using their base model pump on my rear mount build.

Yeah mocals are loud but unless you have a dead quite exhaust you will hear it. The only time I hear mine is on start up thats it. As far as the sts pumps they are a good pump mine lasted 3 + years and just died. I think some people dont set the right current for them nor set how fast the pump needs to be.

I have a Mocal, worked for 2 years (it had been run for 2+ years prior as well), then I had to replace the seals. Took 30 mins.

Ive used flojets for years, but in the last year or so, they have taken a huge dive. Im only guessing that they changed somethng inthe pump so the failure rate is huge.

Now Im trying sureflo. Both are oil compatible, and actually I was able to find the sureflo for less $$ then what I was paying for the flojets.

I knew the seals went bad because when I was flying around the local golf course by our house my car started billowing out smoke like a freight train!
