Default Crank pressure / PCV questions.

I have the original PCV system in place and a breather on the passengers side valve cover. I'm only making 5 to 8#'s but figured since what I have done was too easy it had to be wrong lol.

I had crank case pressure problems when I went FI and after my timing cover seal pushed out on the dyno I vented the rocker cover with a breather and it solved my crankcase pressure problem but was making a oil mess on the engine. So I made a catch can and vented both rocker covers to the can and ditched the pcv system. So the breather is easy and you didn't do any thing wrong it just might get messy. Here's the link to my thread about my problem.

Yeah, will just slapping a breather on the passengers side valve cover keep me from blowing out my seals on 8#'s of boost?

I run a breather on both sides, with the driver's side having an inline PCV valve before the breather. Works really well.

My valve covers are from a truck, and the driver's side has a PCV opening on the rear of the cover. I plugged the valve in, ran the stock line to it, then the other end has one of those 2" ricer filters from Autozone. I was blowing oil out the back and this took care of it. I run a regular breather on the passenger's side cover.

Yep everything becomes an oily mess. The fill cap is the worst. Try replacing the fill cap with something that seals and get a vented breather. If you're really creative (and have a centrifugal supercharger/turbo) you can run one way valves from the intake manifold to the PCV and use the compressor as a vaccum source when you're under boost. Just block the air flow from the manifold back to the PCV and when you're under boost it'll suck from the compressor. I'm not sure about sending oil through the compressor though?

I just have breathers on both sides as well as a breather on the LS6 PCV. Works fine, but it get a little oily. I wonder if some kind of cover for the breathers would help?

if you put a cover on them, then it will just drip out don't you think?

There's alot of good info in here: https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...ting-ok-4.html

My friend has a mustang (the car my turbo came off of) It runs 9.1x's at 17#s of boost, all he has is a breather on each valve cover. They are some brand name and were about 60$ each, I took them apart the other night when we were chainging the oil and they have little baffles in them, they keep his engine bay squeaky clean. I'll post the brand name when I talk to him.

I was leading towards doing the catch can set up.

I was thinking about running two lines to two breather tanks. I'm sure he uses much larger inlet lines though, probably -10 or -12, no?
