Don't Overcomplicate it! Turbo kit install instructions posted ;)
So, I am getting spun back up on my Turbo LS Cutlass project.
On a serious note.....anyone know of any good instructional DVDs out there for custom turbo installation set up instructions? I have purchased the 3 books I could find on the subject - but could use a little more before I get started.
I went to search for any technical DVDs on the subject (found some great stuff on other subjects at a technical DVD rental site).
Came up with zero....so I searched the net, and found this.......my problems are over.....I was obviously making it much more complicated than I needed to make it.....

Here are the instructions from the site:
Prepare the Turbo Kit Before Installation
Step1
Remove the turbine housing from the header of the turbo.
Step2
Install the gasket that fits on the header and put the header back on with the appropriate nuts and bolts.
Step3
Install the studs on the turbine housing. The studs should come with the kit.
Step4
Use the smaller gaskets and install the wastegates on the header.
Install Your Turbo Kit
Step5
Connect the oil line to the middle section and tighten the connections. This center section should be rotated so that it is flush with the flange before it is tightened.
Step6
Install the water banjo fittings. The kit should have the necessary bolts and washers for the job.
Step7
Connect the two hoses that came with the kit. Install the shorter hose in back of the turbo and the longer one in front.
Step8
Install the turbo that has been assembled onto the header and tighten all the bolts and nuts.
Step9
Connect the flange to the oil pan, returning the oil line to the flange.
Step10
Install the support bracket to the engine block and tighten by hand.
Step11
Connect the downpipe and dump tubes to the turbo and secure by hand with clamps. The passenger-side dump tube should be connected to the downpipe. The driver-side tube needs to go into the compressor's threaded hole.
Step12
Install the banjo fitting on the head of the cylinder and fasten the water line.
Step13
Attach the remaining water and cooling lines.

DEI - now THAT is genius - all that turbo, exhaust, and fuel stuff just gets in the way - and this SOLVES our oil/gas problems - a self contained, self perpetuating engine - BEAUTIFUL!!

I don't think that takes into account the amount of fabrication that they have to do with the install. Sometimes they may need to weld , or modify lines/hoses.
I guess in theory, it shouldn't be that difficult: Disassemble Front End, Assemble Kit, Affix Kit to Engine , Re-Assemble Front End. I dunno........
