Default So the crazy stuff begins!

Ok turbo car just finished up, but here is the deal. It runs but not right!! We start the car with the fuse for the fuel pump in,once it is started we have to pull the fuse to keep it runing, if we put the fuse back in, the car dies. I check the fuel pressure when I turn the car on and its at 60psi, here is the messed up part! When the car is running and the fuse is pulled it reads 0psi. How is it running? What is wrong? Injectors ?

What size injectors? Is it tuned?

You need to help yourself by explaining the problem very well.

I thought I did.. 60# injectors yes it is tuned for injectors and pump. So pretty much the car starts when we use the pump it runs without the pump. If we press on the pedal it dies and if we put the fuse in car dies. My guess the stock regulator is bad? Or injectors?

Do you have a wideband on the car? What is it reading with the pump on/off? What does your fuel set up look like? How long does it run for with the fuse out?

No wideband just pressure gauge. It will idle as long as I want it to, but if I give it throttle or turn the pump on car dies. Pressure is right at where it should be. System is all stock except walbro 255 and 60# injectors

That is Fn weird for sure! I can't offer much help, but how can it be running at 0psi fuel pressure? and without a fuse!? that makes no sense LOL but you already know that. So is the fuel pump running when you pull the fuse?

check your grounds, grounding issues will do really funny things. What are the gauges on the dash doing during all of this?

The car can't run indefinatly without fuel pressure. It's impossible. Is the gage electric? If so, have you tried reading the fuel pressure with a mechanical gage at the fuel rail?

Your car needs fuel pressure to run. It may run on low pressure but it will not run on zero. Without the fuel pump having power it will only take a few seconds for the car to run out of fuel pressure. If you start the car with the fuse, pull it, and it is still running after a few seconds then something else is powering the pump.

I know guys it's crazy! I used a machanical guage at the rails and it said 0 psi. While running. Only thing I did was splice the to wires to install the pump so I don't know what else could run it. I put the stock injectors in to see what it would do and it ran with the pump pluged in but shity, I give it gas and it gets choppy. We have to
Jump the battery every time because its dead. I also have oil coming out of the downpipe and a little on the turbo inlet. Do I need to put a jet in?

Just a guess. With stock injectors, it runs but poorly. Can you put the stock tune back in? I bet it will run fine, meaning your tuning is off. Goooood Luck on this one.

Alright, so here are my questions, comments, and statements.
First I agree with the guy above about the tune that sounds about right, meaning its really lean! Dont keep starting it like that.

The fact that your battery is dead, if you have a weak charging system, can also cause the car to run poorly it happened to me, get a new bat.

As for the fuel issue, when you "spliced the wire" how did you do that? did you just cut the plastic off of it and wire something to it or did you use a 3-way crimp? My assertion is that you picked the wrong wire or you wired the pump straight to the fuel pump power feed and now there is to much current on that circuit, you need to use a relay and the fuel pump for a signal only.

lastly Wait till you get the electrical problems fixed before going to a jet in the feed line for the turbo, electric pumps are simple and run in speed with relation to current supplied so if its not getting all 12 or 14.4 volts then it will run slower and not pump out as much, Also whats your feed line size to the turbo and return size and that your turbo is level in the center section.

I am talking the wires in tank. I used the same 2 wires that went to the stock pump. I followed the instructions in the sticky in fuel section. I agree with u on the battery, I was thinking it didn't have enough for full spark. We have to jump the car to get it started. It is tuned for the 60# I just wanted to put the stock injectors in to see I'd the 60# were stuck open or something. Feed like is -4 drain -10. Yes it's a walbro 255

Sorry I wasnt clear, I meant when you ran the oil return pump off of the fuel pump wire.
