Default Help Procharger J Bracket

Ok I can finally join the ranks of Forced Induction, However to tie it all up, I need some help from you. I'm in need of a J Bracket. Maybe someone has one laying around from upgrading to one of the other aftermarket brackets. Also maybe someone has an 8 rib setup. The guy I bought the supercharger from is tossing in the 6 rib setup so that can get me by for a bit.

Also curious about compression ratio. Whats optimal? I plan on upgrading this supercharger to a minimum D1SC next year, maybe even an F1. I hear alot of guys from LME are doing 9.5:1 but what happens if I have 10:1? I have 2 sets of pistons -29cc JE and -8cc Wisecos. I've bought a set of .040 Cometic head gaskets.

you will be fine at 10 to 1 with a meth kit, should be able to run ten pounds safely without it if you can keep the fuel to it

guys are running ten on a stock bottom end which is 10 to 1 without meth and on the small intercoolers that come with the kit

I may have a bracket available here soon with tensioner and possibly a 8 rib blower pulley. You'll be on your own for the crank pulley tho.

Well I got my Procharger J Bracket Thanks SO MUCH -1SLOWSS. I got an entire 6 rib setup, not sure how long a belt is going to last as I will be spinning this little P1 pretty hard to feed my 408, but it should get me by. Just bought a mondo bypass valve on another forum for 80 bucks so now I'm almost done buying everything, I need to buy a welder so I can fab up my piping. I'm going to get one of those ebay intercooler kits for about $250 and search craigslist for a mig welder tonight. I'm also still needing a 90mm throttle body.

Also, from a bit of research, I can use my JE -29cc dish pistons as long as I mill about .040 off the bottom of the head which should put me at about 62ccs on my heads. Block decked at 0, .040 cometic gasket. LME sets their supercharger motors up for 9.5:1 and thats good enough for me!

Also I'm needing boost gauges and such, not quite sure what all gauges I'm going to need, boost gauge and AF gauge, do I need a wideband for the AF gauge or does it just hook into my stock oxygen sensor?

About exhaust, how bad are my 1 3/4 headers going to choke things up? I'm running true duels with an X pipe can I get away with 2 1/2 or do I have to go bigger? 2 1/2 x 2 = 5 inches and I dont hear anyone running 5 inch from their Y pipe
SO anyway, Thanks for the help I've already gotten, and if ya got a 90mm throttle body be sure to lemme know!

Two 2.5" diameter tubes do not equal one 5" tube. Combined they actually have half the volume of a single 5" pipe of the same length. I'd think 3" would be better for a blown 408.

Ok I am lost.. Dual 2.5 diamater tubes have half the volume of a 5" tube...Is it just me or does that bring it back down to where I started, 2.5" tube. Also, I think our exhausts need at least SOME backpressure. Further enlightenment of this issue would be awesome!

I know it seems wierd, but the math involves squaring the radius so there is an exponential increase in volume as your tube diameter increases.
pi * radius squared * height.

volume of 2.5"x10" tube = ~49.087 ci
so volume of two of them = ~98.174 ci
volume of 5"x10" tube = ~196.349 ci

I have most of the ProCharger 6 rib and 8 rib piece parts at the above link, if there is anything you can't find used. Bob

Do you still want to sell the J bracket? I'm interested.
