Default Solid Mounts a Must?

For a 6.0 truck manifold build with a 3" DP on stock K -Member are solid motor mounts a must for clearance as well as heat concerns? OR are there some guys out here running factory mounts free of trouble?... Thanks..

um... it was 5 - 0 against stock mounts at 11:00am and now its 100 for stock mounts and 5 for solid? Where did the 100 come from in a couple hours? Someone trying to sabotage my poll? Its only had 70 views...so how can 105 votes be in?? Nice to know people screw with polls...

I wonder if a person can fashion some kind of extra heat shield that would extend the life of the mounts...

I have solids and the vibration is minimal from it.

The Spohn Kmember/solid mounts have given me so much extra room when working on the car, its insane.

Solid motor mounts sure help if you have close tolerances.

I welded my mounts up myself and there's really no difference in vibration that you would feel in the car. It did help with the clearance on my 4" DP though.

That is exactly what I did. I actually wrapped the mount in that self adhesive heat barrier stuff. Mine started to melt, and I bought the solid mounts. I decided to go this wrap them at the last minute. Still kinda glad I didn't go solid.

Do the poly mounts resist the heat more than the rubber ones or not really?..

Does everyone think that with the DP wrapped really well that the stock mounts will hold up?

I would go with the Solid Mounts just to be safe. I bought some the other day for this reason.

if you dont mind the harsh vibrations get some solid mounts if you want it smooth get some polly mounts, the polys will hold up fine.
not sure if i would use the stock rubber mounts, with all the increase of torque you will have.

I have solids and i dont have a "harsh vibration".

Everyone always talks about it, but most people who do, dont have a car with solid motor mounts.
