Should i install it myself?
Alright im trying to decide if i should install my HP performance stage 3 turbo kit myself or if i should take it to a performance shop and shell out a few grand and have them do it. I would really like to do it myself to get the experience, save a ton of money, and have some fun. I have a little bit of experience working on cars i have done cylinder heads on my old 96 Mustang GT as well as gears and bolt ons. But i have never really worked with turbo's before. What do you guys think? Should i do it myself? Or should i pay someone else to do it and have fun? Also what do you think would be the hardest part of the install?
Thanks for the input

I did mine myself on jackstands over a 2.5 week period. It was a lot of work and I had a little help here and there. But it was well worth it in the end. I am proud to say I did the isntall myself. I only took it somewhere for the exhaust and then for a tune for a total of 3 weeks downtime. What a feeling to hear it fire back up after having it all torn down during the install. It's euphoric.

Depends on how many hours and how much custom work they have to do. I would guess a few thousand to start. Like I said I had 2.5 weeks into my kit working ~4hrs in the garage after work and pretty much 11hrs or so on the weekends. I did it all by myself with help only installing the k-member and dropping the tank. Some shops may be faster if they have done something similar before. And others may take longer if it's their first. So it's hard to say. Call some of the sponsors and ask. I am sure they could provide you an estimate.

Exactly. Do it youself so you know what is involved, what it does, where it is, why it's there, etc. Great satisfaction will be yours when it's done. Add to that, most shops are content to do a half assed job, content that you'll bring the car back if they forgot to do anything(if you can make it back). Unless it's just something you don't have a clue about, do it yourself!
