Default Anybody making big boost power on L92 heads

Trying to put a build together and decide on what heads to go with on a budget. Can i Make around 1000+ hp with L92 heads? Is that possible?
If not what heads should i go with?

I think you could do it.Those heads flow big numbers right out of the box.
Good luck.

With a 408 and Stage 3 Livernois heads, we've made 877 rwhp with a F1a at 15lbs slipping to 10 lbs in the upper RPM. Your goals are definately possible. As soon as we get it tuned for the bigger injectors and finish the SDCE bracket, we will see just how close it will come to that 1000 mark.

veee8 sold his heads and bought a set of ETP LS7 heads,it's hard to keep head gaskets in at 1000hp with factory casting heads, thin decks,i recommend any aftermarket head over a stock head for boosted engines-just for that reason

I just made 922rwhp/897rwtq on L92s yesterday.

GM CNC ported L92s, LS7 block. 440ci. Twin TC76s. 13.5psi. 93 Pump.

I know I can make 1000rwhp with a touch more boost.

Yeah heads are sold, but I still have the GMPP ported efi single plane intake for sale in the classifieds.
You can make 1000 hp with these heads pretty easily, but the longevity is not there. Too thin of decks, mediocre casting and material, and not enough meat around the bolt bosses for 1/2" head studs. I am not alone with the problems that come up with pushing the L92's too far.
There were a great budget setup to get running with, but I needed to upgrade to a beefy aftermarket casting.
24 psi here we come.......

I dont know what big power is, but I went 5.33@139 saturday with as cast L92s. 3225lbs. As vee8 said, they make good power, but at 1000+hp you are better off with a set of thicker deck heads.

Thats what happens when you try to make about 25psi (PT106) with 1/2" studs on them. Backed down the boost and its still living for now.

^ Impressive. I've never seen someone physically break a head like that before. I've seen quite a few melt from pushing water.

At what point (PSI? / HP?) does the L92 thin casting become an issue?

I was thinking of using a set of L92's for a boosted LS2 daily driver, set somewhere between 10 and 14 PSI.

The power level you desire and the reliability go hand in hand.
You can put down 1000RWP like Vee8 has done, but only for so long.
From what I have seen, pushing factory castings past 750HP reduces the lifespan considerably.
I will be using L92's as well, but I will not have it set on KILL very often.
For what I want to do I think I should get good use out of the L92's.

I was told that the L92s and turbos have a problem as far as the exhaust ports don't flow that well compared to the intakes.Obviously turbo motors like good exhaust flow.Any ideas?
Thanks

Unless you want to work on it alot, I would say limit the power on them to 750.
