LS1 twin or single turbo?

LS1 twin or single turbo? i dont no much about Ls1 engines i just bought one. i want to put a turbo on my stock LS1. what are the pros and cons of a single vs. twin turbo? which is better? i want the most safe hp possible. what is the most hp a stock Ls1 can hold safely, on pump gas/100 octane? lets just say i ran run 500 rwhp/550rwtq safely, what kind of duribility does these engines have? am i going to kill my engine? if so what do i need to change to keep my engine alive?

im new to ls1tech but if i didnt know better, i would think nobody wants to get into this debate. how about this what are some specs on some of you stock ls1 guys that have a sinle or twin turbo. what kind of rwhp and times are yall running?
Welcome to the site.
It might take a little before you get a bunch of replies, but keep in mind that there are not a huge amount of folks out there with turbo'd LS1 cars.

ya, it a new and up coming thing in my neck of the woods. afer taking a ride in my cousins supra, feeling that unbelievable boost. it was amazing. is i decided that im going to have that, just more of it.
its hard to say what would be better twin or single, realy it doesnt matter.
just find a kit at a good price that fits your performance needs.
your options as of now are
The CAS twin kit, heard its a long wait to get it. 2 people on the board are running this, i is getting ready to.
A used Incon twin kit, hard to find one since they went out of business, but there out there
the turbotech single kit, easest kit to get, used ones come up all the time and they are the cheapest kit out there
The QMP single kit, think you now have to delever your car to ls1motorsports and have them install and tune it, not sure on the wait period.
there are a few companies devoloping kits right now also, but there release dates will probably be a while.

there is i guy an hour for where i live that makes everything to fit your engine. i just was not sure whether i was going to get him to put a twin or single turbo on for me. then i dont know what size turbo to get. T63, T67, T74, etc.
well if some one is custom making a kit, the way are engine is set up as a V-8 then twins would work better (avoiding the restrictive crossover)
but its harder to get a twin set up to fit.

By the way, specs on my kit are twin t-44's,8psi,9-1 compresion 6.0l heads, small rev split cam,stock bottom end,drive train compleat.
car has gon almost 128mph and went 10.9, so far.
Im hoping to better that this weekend in e-town.
