Ok with a stock cam how much boost can you run before the springs will let the valves start to float ? at around 6-6500 rpms?

I've had stock valvesprings handle 15 psi before, but it is going to depend on your combination and how many miles you have on them. Bob

The size of cam is going to be a big factor.

If you already have your turbo setup installed and running, I'd just leave the boost at a low level (say 5-8 psi) and just buy the springs when you graduate from a stock cam.

Ive made 500 rwhp on stock cams with a turbo car at 8-9 psi and started to see valve float. They will hold up in a supercharged car better since there will be less exhaust backpressure.

I dont think the boost makes much of a difference, Its the rpms that will be affected.

With a stock cam, why try to go over 6k or so your spinning it for no reason because you are not making any more power.
