It is a Race Engine Development (R.E.D.) prepped, Darton sleeved LS2 block. HKE is based in Houston and is a LS1Tech sponsor. Erik is considered amongst the top engine builders in the country and he goes by racer7088. If you are considering a new build, you really need to put them on the short list. http://www.hkracingengines.com

On my Black car I made 23# with the 408 and so far that is about all I have made on the 347 because of a fuel issue, but should be @25-27 at 6500 on the little motor. Very nice numbers you have with your set up.

Hey Inspector, I was referring to people making over 20# using the Cartek Flip Drive. What pulley system are you using? Nice builds by the way.

No. Just normal stuff for an F-body. You said you didn't know of anyone making more than 20lbs etc... Its an 8 rib setup no cog. Although I wish I could have a cog.

Gotcha - another guy recommended the Cartek Flip Drive to eliminate the slip problems I was having and I had responded that I was not aware of anyone using them over 20# boost. Vettes do not have a lot of room and you have to spin the blower, alternatore and power steering pump off the crank. Belt wrap / traction is a problem, so Cartek created a "Flip Drive? that allows you to spin the PS pump and alternator off the inner part of the damper that also spins the AC pump. This allows the outer section of the damper to spin the blower by itself, which takes a lot of strain off the components, allows you to use shorter belts and get better wrap to reduce slipping the blower. I did not want to be the first one to try one of these systems at $1,000 each after I just spent $1,000 on a 10-rib, which was an upgrade to my $900 8-rib. However, they may let me do some testing to see if they work because of the visibility my car has in the Corvette community. We will see - I would like to get something worked out.

I see what you were saying. Yeah I looked at the flip drive when they had just released it and well as you know is directed for the vette owners although I had not ruled out modification to use on an F-body etc... I haven't had a ton of belt issues although if I don't have everything just right it will slip. I have to make sure I clean the pulleys if it has slipped to clean off the residue of the slipping belt, then reinstall belt and make sure the tensioner has the correct tension before beating on it etc... I am sure you will find some good help from the flip kit. GL!

hey Inspector12, are you using the F1A, F1C, or F1R blower? and also, are you using the ATI 8 rib or SDCE 8 rib tensioning system?

It is in October. It is a really fun event. We usually camp out at the track and have a party throughout the night.

Damn, those pictures are what it's all about!! Of course we all want that 200mph jacket but the BS is what makes it great! Do you have any idea what power to weight ratio it takes to hit 200 considering the car is set up correctly aero wise?

with the right wind conditions it's been done with 850rw at 3300lbs... usually around 900hp for 3800lbs... weight is not quite as big a deal as 1/4 mile...
