Is my Impeller Screwed Up?

Is my Impeller Screwed Up? I just bought a 94 Camaro with a Vortech T-trim. I took the head unit apart and this is what I found. Notice the pieces that appear to be "missing" on the impeller. It doesn't look like it was broke or anything, I am hoping it was done to balance it. If anyone could help me out that would be great.
Never seen anything like it before. It doesn't appear to be caused by any kind of failure, but as if material was removed intentionally. I wouldn't worry about it. How does the blower perform?
