Default FI for 11.2 CR motor?

Is it possible to successfully add forced induction to a high compression LS6 motor that has 11.2 to 1 CR?

I always thought this was too high....

Sounds like a bad idea.

You can add FI to any motor. In this case it wouldn't last very long.

I was under the impression that a stock motor and 9 psi of boost, the effectice CR was around 17:1. What would be the problem of having a 11:1 motor with say 5 psi of boost??? Add fuel and back off timing a bit.

Defiently a VERY VERY bad idea, I popped a head gasket with 6psi with 10.6:1 comp.....

Stay away from it, get rid of the heads and get some big chamber F.I. heads......

just back off the timing and run some 112 or so octane.

guy i know has a 5 speed mustang with 357--11.0to1 compression and 10#'s of boost that runs 10.50's at 137.

suprised me too. carbuerated motor

I wouldn't do it, but if you did please get the FAST system. Your only defense is going to be in the tuning..

Is there a point when a 10:1 comp or 11:1 comp. motor just won`t take anymore boost no matter how much timing you pull?

Lingenfelter SS is probably the closest to this setup as I can think of.

High compression = need more octane

How high do you want to go?

Highest unleaded is 104, leaded gas will destroy factory o2 sensors after about a tank of gas.

I agree with Pro Stock John and BigBos. The most you could run is like 4lbs of boost on a stock motor with 11+ CR. Detonation is the issue you will have to fight..it would take at least 104 octane...and your Intercooler efficiency would have to be above 85% to be effective. Also the heads have been known to float when running 16lbs of boost...you would need some "O" ringed heads and some ARP heads studs/bolts to be safe.

I would recommend at the minimum...selling those heads and putting on some 6 liter or hogged out ls1/ls6 heads 74/72 ccs perspectively.

Good Luck.
