Too big of an engine and the turbo becomes a bottle neck. I think OP was pushing for for the 402ci since the 4.000 stroke cranks are popular on here, and they might be cheaper than a custom 3.750, 3.900 crankshaft. That said I'm sure the OH Boys and the LMR guys ran 88/98's or 91/98's with 402 cid engines and went at least 8.3's. The other example mentioned was Dave C. (Mightymouse) he's running a T4 flanged 88mm I believe and he's flying. Brian K. (Fireball) is flying too but he's running a true 98mm tip to tip so it would be hard to do a 1 : 1 comparo for what OP is looking for.

I have decided with this much money invested my own money nonsponsor money i will be running in some outlaw classes so i want be bottled necked by the size turbo.. By starting my build with a 408 or 427 with a 91 to 94mm turbo, and when the "needmoreimcomfortable" bug bites me then i will step up to run in the lmr, major, ohioboys class and open up my lsx block and go 454 etc with a twin setup...
