new to boost got a few questions????
hey guys well i was talkin to my buddy yeaterday and we were thinkin about putting a truck manifold turbo kit on the camaro... the kit is the same kit that 2002BLKTA used on his 2002 WS6. we were either thinkin of using a 76 or an 80mm on the t4 flange that is on the kit. my question to you guys is what do you think my compression will be with 6.0l heads, and -12cc dish mahle pistons?? we werent thinkin of running crazy boost just something like 10-12lbs. do you think this will be ok? the motor is a 408 with lq9 block, 4.030 -12cc forged mahle pistons, compstar 6.125 h-beams, and eagle 4.000 crank. i was told that my cam may be alright its a 235/240 .603/.609 on a 112lsa??? i thought this was not enough lsa but my buddy is convinced that it will be. what do you guys think??? also will the stock fuel lines and rail be ok? im planning on running 2 walbro intanks with probably 60lb injectors the heads will be "cleaned up" but no extensive port work just probably a 3 or 5 angle valve job. its a fun street/strip once in awhile kinda car so any insight on what you guys think would be very appreciated. also it is a th400 car with 3000 stall and 4.10s out back that'll be changed to either 3.42's or 3.23's, what do you guys think?
thanks jason

Since its a 408 I say go with the 80 maybe even a little bigger. I'd run a little bit more boost than that maybe like 14-16 but its not my engine. Also ditch that cam. Will it work yes will it work good? Heck no! Sell it and get a good custom ground turbo cam or even just a ls6 cam the work great for FI. Your stock fuel lines will be plenty but the rails I don't know. Save your self the trouble and go ahead and pick up some after market rails.
Hope this helps man! Good luck with the build!

On your 408 the 317s will have pretty low compression. Ima say in the 8 to 1 range I'm running them on my 347 with flat tops with -4cc valve reliefs and I think it should be around 9 to 1
The 80mm might be to small but I'm not an expert I think the most popular turbo for 408s is something like a PT88 but the 80 shoul still work and on 16 pounds with a 80mm ima say atleast 750 wheel but I don't wana get your hopes up
Good luck man!

thanks for the quick replies guys i really appreciate it. like i said in the beginning post its more or less a street car with it seeing the track maybe 2-4 times a month. we were thinkin of running a t76 or an 80 with anywhere between 10-12 pounds. we dont rev it all that high considering the cam im running right now with the heads i got gives out at 55-5600 rpms i dont rev this thing to the moon the most ive taken it to is 6500. so would the t76 become more of a restriction at 6000r's cause of the cubes im running or what? again i appreciate your replys guys keep em comin

Yeah I'd say the 76 would be more of a restrictor that's y I recomend the 80. I know on my engine the 76 will be pretty close to maxing out on my little 347 but I plan on running like 18 psi lol
