Default How many spray with a procharger

I am kicking the idea around of getting a D1 and keeping the spray for the track. I am building a 408 to go in and would like the everyday power of the D1 has to offer, and like the spray for the track.

I know people spray a small shot to get them out of the hole but does any one spray a 150 on their set up, and if people don't why not?

i have a friend who picked up a d1 cheap and kept his spray on a 408 only has 7lbs boost at 5800 and sprays 75 off the line and ads 75 mid track. the car is a rocket no dyno numbers all street and track tuned but runs 5.60 at 128 and has ac stereo and cruise still. hes in iraq now but when hes home he keeps waco on edge. so yes it can be done but even he will tell you he would have got an f1 instead ...but the deal was too good. the motor is a 10:1 dragonslayer/compstar/aries/afr combo with his "secret" cam specs.

I have really thought about a F-1 but I might be able to pick up a D1 cheap.

I just want more power, and most turbo setups require you to remove the AC- which I am not gonna do in South Florida.

any pros/cons to spraying a 150+ on a procharger, belt slip or anything of the sort?

The tune with the blower needs to be really solid, then you need a way to pull some more timing with the spray on. The downside to a big shot with a blower setup is that if anything goes wrong the chances of a major grenade scenario is like a hair trigger away. Meth would be a good insurance policy, especially if you could additionally use it for the extra fuel for the nitrous via a wet nozzle. Keep it sane and creep up on the nitrous shot - get comfortable with it, don't just go to 150 right away.

I am all set up for this but haven't started playing with the spray yet. I have a 2-stage system with a separate fuel system and am thinking of using meth with the boost and the spray.

With a 408 and a D1SC with 13lb. of boost you should have all the power (700+) you could ever use.

What he says. I had a D1 on my 383 LT1, and it was instant boost out of the hole, Just pulley up and you will be fine...

+1 vote for more boost instead of nitrous assistance. There are way too many things to go wrong with dealing with FI AND happy gas! Once setup itself is enough headaches. Don't compound them! If you aren't happy with the nitrous, sell the kit and use the money for the D1 setup, and if you feel the need to spray anything, get a meth kit and then you can up the boost even more. .02

Well the spray is going to be staying on the car. I would have no problems with going more boost and less spray.

At what level does the D1 get maxed on a 408- around 16 or so?
