Default Boosted 5.3

Hey Guys
Its been awhile since Ive been on. I have some questions hopefully ya'll can answer for me. Here is what i have, a 5.3 i purchased from the boneyard. I have completely disassembled it and its ready for the machine shop. I am going to be putting it in a 71 Chevelle. I am looking for a reliable 500rwhp. I am going be putting a turbo on it. I am also trying to do this on a budget. I would like some input on:

What cam (I was thinking LS6)
What heads (I was again thinking LS6)
What size turbo (I aint got no idea on this)
And what kind of boost I could run

Thanks any help would be greatly appreciated.

I will be keeping ya'll posted on the swap.

You dont need LS6 heads. maybe just LS1 heads, I have 6.0 heads it drops compression down to 8.6:1 but if your on a budget pass on the LS6 heads. You'll get beyond 500hp without them.
The Master Power T70 seems to be a good choice for the 5.3, people making over 600hp with them.

Mines a complete stock shortblock w/ 6.0l heads, Master power GT45 (kinda laggy) 15psi boost, 50 shot of spray, a cam i had laying around 224/224 112 and its been reliable for going on 3 years beating it pretty good. Makes about 640rwhp.

My friends BMW he put a 5.3 in it, budget build, 6.0 heads, MP T70, hasnt finished it yet though.

I ordered 5.7l head gaskets and they sent me 6.0l. They said that is what they all use now. I'm guessing that's the same for the 5.3l

You use the gasket to match your head....5.7 head = 5.7 gasket, same with a 6.0= 6.0 gasket.

I made 490rwhp on 9lbs through a 4l80 unlocked 3500 stall, and have had it on 12lbs before. Stock long block with a GT2-3 cam. Granted I was doing all that on pump gas and lost a ringland, no reason why a forged bottom end wouldnt hold it all day.

Can anyone tell me if these will work on a 2002 5.3 with 2000 853 LS1 Heads? Why do they say 02-04 LS1?
