Default Procharger Pulley Removal.

Removed pulley bolt but pulley held fast.Wedge screwdriver between pulley and front bracket and gave tap with hammer.Pulley does not move on shaft but pulley and shaft move out of head unit some way which seemed strange. What's going on here? I tapped it back and all seemed ok,just puzzled about movement,Any ideas? Thanks.

Before you mess up the head unit grab a 3 jaw pulley puller from your favorite auto parts store. Use a small socket between the pointy shaft on the puller and the input shaft of the blower. It is a somewhat tight slip fit for the pulley and keyway, and after heat cycles it locks in there pretty good.

This is exactly what I did as well the other night when changing the supercharger pulley for my new SDCE setup. It worked pretty slick in getting the pulley off without putting any unnecessary pressure on the head unit.

I was surprised how easy the shaft and pulley pulled out of the head unit.I had mangled a belt and a thin strip of it had got tied around shaft and was making a mess so I needed to pull pulley abit to get remains out.I tapped it back and it seems to idle ok(not road tested yet).Just wondered what was going on inside unit, rotor mesh etc if shaft has been pulled abit then tapped back? Thanks.

The gears are straight cut so not much issue there, but the bearings they use are designed to take a load in one direction, hopefully it didn't tug one of the bearings out of place inside there.

a little bit of loc tite gets on the shaft sometimes, better to play a small amount of heat to the pulley, should expand and come right off

In the directions says to heat up the pulley with a torch for a few seconds rotating around the shaft. If you hammered or put the screwdriver under it to pry it off you may have damaged the input shaft is what it says on the directions to remove the pulley from the blower.
