Took it to the track today. No one to video so theres no video. Kind of an easy pass, didnt spool it up off the line and then broke something. It as an inconsistent knock, guessing the converter finally imploded or a rod knock....kinda leaning towards rod. Still made it through the traps and then drove it on the trailer...and still runs smooth. Oh well....one more reason to make it more better for next year.
I never hooked up the spray, so this is w/o it.

ya, i could have foot braked it and built up boost, but the first pass I wanted to take it somewhat easy. I guess it was its only pass. The Nova had a best of 1.55 60fts and this has smaller tires, lower gears, and spools up 500 rpms sooner. I think it would have exceeded that.

how do you like that gt45? Im building a little 4.8 and revving it to the sky. Looking at either a gt45 or a s475. Not sure which yet.

#8 rod bearing was the failure.

The stock bearings look like soft aluminum. For a stock engine to make 700hp for 3 years I think it did pretty good. Everything else in the engine looked new yet. Major weak point I'd say are the bearings. New bearings in a stock 5.3 and i think they would run forever.

I rebuilt a stock LQ4 (had parts laying around) with better bearings, rod bolts, and rings. Also ditched the 112 lsa cam and got a Z06 cam and a better converter. I just finished it up last week. Time to start tuning it and see what it does.

Also picked up a racecraft tubular k-member over the winter.
New engine going in...

I have this whole setup for sale. Anyone wondering how it works, its now on an LQ4 w/ an LS6 cam, and a midwest 3600 stall, the thing spools almost instantly. Engines got a noise so im ripping it all apart and building something else.

Selling the whole turbo setup.

Could you tell me where you purchased the rod ends for your torque arm?
Thanks,
Kory

I used a 1 bar spring in the wastegate, just referenced off of that, never used a boost controller.

I know this isnt the for sale thread, but more people interested in Turbo setups read here than there probably.

Im selling the whole setup. $3000. for everything.
-Turbo MPGT45
-60# injectors
-Intercooler / cold side / Tial 50mm BOV
-Stainless hotside / Tial 44mm WG / truck manifolds
-3.5" downpipe expanded to 4" (mild steel)
- Notched factory K-member (to clear exhaust, you might not even need it but I went tubular so its included)
-If you have a 99 f-body/manual/th350/400 - I'll flash your PCM to a decent 2 bar base tune for free
-silicone intake elbow /K&N air filter / v-band clamps /
-basically everything you need except the oil lines.

The setup works awesome, on a LQ4 spools instantly. Can go for a ride and see. Will be taking the car apart real soon though.
Reason for selling... going way bigger.
