I think if the unit was self contained as far as oiling with a pump and cooler would be nice. exhaust tends to get ripped off from time to time, and having the oil lines going to the motor at that same instance would suck. The weather here in Illinois would rust the turbo, plumbing and waste gate up pretty fast like id does everything else. Still id like to try one on the winter car as fabrication would be simple

Why did you choose the T-66 and what is custom about it? I am extremely interested in this kit; however, I learned long ago that prototyping was far too much trouble for me. So I am waiting to see how this setup works out for others.
The standard turbo that comes with the kit is a far from optimal match for the flow requirements of a LS1 IMHO. I was thinking that something in the T-70 to T-76 range would work far better.
Keep us informed!

Remotely spooling a t-76-78 would take way too long IMO

New LS1 Turbo Kit Coming Soon
Prototype is finished! Drives and runs great. FAST! We just need to put some miles on it and do some more testing. We should have preliminary results soon and prerelease test kits should be ready to ship in November. If you would like to be put on the list to be notified when this kit is in production please click on the "Contact Us" button and fill out the feedback form. If you would like to be one of our prerelease testers for this kit email us using the feedback form and give us your information and all the information on your car. Only a few people will be selected for the prerelease program.
Thanks, Rick @ STS
LS1 Dyno Test
Tested the 99 LS1 prototype on 11/22/03 at Phantom Motorsports in SLC. Results were:
Stock this same car produced a best run of 320 rwhp on this same dyno.
5 psi run produced 416 rwhp and 452 rwtq
8 psi run with methanol injection produced 509 rwhp and 551 rwtq
These runs were on a completely stock LS1 with STS turbo system and no other modifications or tuning. Will have the dyno charts posted on the site soon.
Kits will be 3000 - 3500 $ I beleive

^this is good news...and what i expected.
they're using a 60mm turbo, because this is meant to be a "street" kit not an all out KIT.
Sadly at 8 psi on the ls1 it's making the power of
certain "offroad" front mount that will run u 10k or more JUST TO RUN.
also if u happen to want t-76 power, they will custom make it for u.
This 60mm is a Garret custom to work from the Rear. so it would be no prob to go bigger, simply more expensive.
of course bigger mandates strong internals/driveline plus compression ect ect...that would get away from the bargain this is.
Also i saw their lt1 run...Lag was NOT an issue at all. it's all in propeller blade angle (?)
(goes back to barnes and noble to check with Corky Bell)

Custom as there kits only come with a t-60 or a 60-1, but they can get you what ever size too fill your needs. I choose a T-66 because i plain on building the motor down the road .
I am going to spay a 75 shot with a hop switch(Shuts the NO2 off when you hit full boost) for the lag issue!T-76 is way too big for this kit I believe.STS Dynoed 509rwhp with the 60-1!!! on the LS1
