PLEASE work it out man, I think I would leave the site and go back to stangs if you parted that monster out. (or at least think about it.) Hopefully things will go smoothly with BS.

Brian is pretty disgusted right now with having these ignition issues. After spending a good portion of money on "the fix" it's kinda disappointing to have the same isuues.
We know how to fix it properly, just costs money and takes time.
I'm pretty confident you will see this car again on the racetrack running better than ever.

I know the feeling all too well. Take a break and see how you feel down the road. On a side note is this a known problem with BS3? My bs3 car is backfiring on the initial startup. I just figured the tune wasn't where it needed to be.

Hang in there Brian, and if you do the setup like Kurt is doing. The cost of the change over isn't that high when you see how much a Jessel belt drive is. Plus you will know this will fix it. Good luck man!
I'm at the belief now that if your looking to make over 1500hp and run it above 7,500rpm that you should run a distributor setup.

It's becoming a know problem with high reving high powered cars. There are a lot of other things that can cause a backfiren issue though. If you don't have the new firmware from BS3 you need to get it. So you can first verify your cam/crank advance.

I agree on the distributor part 100%. We have not had one hiccup this year, I think we perked Brian's interest when he regapped a new set of plugs we installed them and proceeded to go 163mph to the 1/8. He said "Damn imagine what my car would do with an ignition that works".

Congrats on another win and the sick mph. Love to see the little LS motors on top. I was hoping to run in the high 150s when it's back together. Guess I'm going to have to turn it up! How much boost did you get to on that pass?

looks like there are really 3 options:
1. Jesel camshaft belt drive + MSD belt drive front mount dist. VERY VERY expensive, but this is the proven combo
2. Kurt Urban MSD belt drive front mount that works with factory cam setup. Much cheaper than #1 and should be as good as #1
3. GMPP camshaft setup + MSD Ford Distributor. Cheaper yet but somewhat unproven, though just about any ford out there runs this type setup so it shouldn't be "high risk"
Either way, would also need:
Coil
MSD Flying magnet trigger wheel
MSD non-magnet pickup
MSD box (most likely 7AL-2)
BS3 reconfigured into distributor mode
BS3 distributor main wire harness
BS3 3 step harness for MSD
