damn...after further research, looks like GMPP would require a non-serpentine balancer too (for size issues). That puts it in the same ballpark as Kurt's setup...

You'll be happy when it's all sorted out, get it done!

One of my friends had a BS3 box go bad, they repaired it pretty quick. I'll be trying the external crank trigger soon! I just had my software updated, I hope I don't have issues. I really don't want to go with a distributor.

You think about using the 7531 box/coil for ignition control with a distributor and flying magnet and just use BS3 for Fuel? Gives you more options with the ability to ride dots if you wanted, seems most are using this with a Jesel setup, pricey though.

Yeah, I was just thinking you could ditch the BS3 completely from controlling ignition including timing along with ditching the OEM coils, 7531 has much better control and some nicer features i just don't know if you need it or not. This is the route I'm going seeing what some of the other big hitters are doing and why they did it...Hopefully the BS3 is the issue and can be fixed for you cheap enough...

I wish I new the absolute fix for this, but I don't. Have a few theories of how to fix it and will be testing them over time.
Mike had the misfire problem at high RPM/boost, and the most reliable fix right now is the dist set up. His engine did have a bent crank trigger caused by running into the #8 piston, but the external wheel should have fixed it if that was the problem. The problem seems to be in the front cover (LS2) equiped engines with the cam/crank relationship changing at high rpm. I did run my engine 9000+rpm with 32 psi resulting in a 6 second pass with no issues using truck coils and a BS3. I would like to see somebody change the front cam signal over to a magnet/hall effect to see if this helps the problem, but it is just an educated guess that may not work.

So are you guys running an ignition amplifier or not? On the 4cyl stuff with COP we have ran into the limits of the factory ignition at varying levels. Slap an amplifier in and so far any limits with the system have not been seen on cars making 250hp/cyl.
