Default TR230/224 good turbo cam?

Hello,
It seems to me that the TR230 reverse split on a 114 LSA would be a great turbo cam...but I have not seen the cam card one one before...is there too much overlap or should it hold good boost?..if anyone is running this cam please post up and tell me how ya like it or if anyone knows if it will be good for a turbo motor...Thank's,

Carter

i believe you'd want a traditional split cam (more exhuast duration), plus with the 111lsa you'll bleed off all the boost. consider a 115+ lsa.

Turbo's like more intake duration than exhaust..supercharger's like traditional splits.....Do they make the TR230 on a 114 or 116? or i might have it custom ground if not...the 111 lsa is way too much...does anyone run this cam or something similar? Thank's,

Carter

Correct, turbos do like more intake duration than exhaust.

FWIW, my cammotion solid roller is 238/232 @ .050, .639/.627 lift W/1.7's, .010 hot lash intake and exhaust. Works great, has some thump at idle, and makes plenty of power.

What LSA is that on? and does it bleed off boost or does it hold steady?..Thank's,

FWIW, I put a 224/220 on a 115 LSA in the new turbo engine. Turbos dont need a huge cam to make big power.

The cam will not 'bleed off boost', therefore limiting boost. Boost pressure is controlled solely by wastegate/boost controller settings.

That term is often used in supercharged applications, because too much overlap and you will end up exhausting some of your intake charge.

On most turbo systems, exhaust pressure is higher than intake pressure. Reversion will occur during overlap.

What are the details of your combination, and what are your goals for HP and at what fuel octane, RPM capability, and driveability.

Cam is 115 LSA, boost is sold as a rock from 3300-6800.

All the info you need is posted above...

more intake duration that exhaust
no need for a monster cam (large lift/duration)
114/115 LSA
Reverse split good, traditional split bad for turbos

Very good starting point for a turbo cam.
