Default Cog Setup?

I have seen a couple on different types of cars. What does it exactly do? I know it works with centri type blowers but thats about all I know about it.

Thanks,
Nate

A cog belt doesn't slip like a regular belt will.

The only shop I have ever heard running a cog sucessfully was in Australia. Not sure how streetable they really are. My understanding is that you have to design a free spinning pulley on the blower side much like a 10-speed bicyle has on the rear wheel, otherwise you will shread the belt when you lift from the throttle.

The ProCharger 350Z kit comes with a cog belt, we have never seen a problem with them on manual transmission 350 Z's over the years. Here is a picture form a 350Z install we did back in '04.

We probably have some of our cog pulley conversion kits out there on manual transmission Camaro and Firebirds. http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com...html?item=1749 Bob

I heard that if you run a cog drive on an f body you lose your power steering pump. Does procharger allow you to use all factory accesories?

Our cog kit was designed to be used without power steering, the only think that prevents power steering from being used is the upper bracket reinforcement. We haven't had a car with power steering to do an install, but I'm sure the top brace could be modified to make it work. Bob

RMCR built my cog setup. It on a 383 LT1 6- speed with a YSi and I have had no problems and all I do is street driving.

I know they offer a kit for the high mount LS1 with a YSi that is fully streetable and keeps all the factory accessories.

The 1st pic is there LS1 cog set up for the F-Body and the 2nd is the custom set up they made for my LT1

Got any pics? I'd love to see this as it may give me incentive to switch over. You're an M6 w/ no problems? Daily or weekend brawler?

Sorry bro i dont have any pics of it with the front clip off, but its a house of boost lt1 cog setup..mounts in the same location. I daily drive the car to work and school, and it has never had any issues. In fact, I had way more problems with the standard 12 rib procharger bracket. But yea everyone with a m6 and cog have said they have had no issues, but ive been told to not do high rev down-shifts, because serpentine setups will usually slip a tad saving the belt in high rpm downshifts.

im guessing any cog belt style system will prevent you from keeping your A/C?
