if you have EFI live you can choose what you want for what i understand. but if you use HPtuners you have to send them your original file and a truck file they will merge them for you. but beware it takes up to 4 weeks for them to return it. so plan ahead if you do the swap.

the truck pcm and car pcm are 100% the same minus the OS inside. ive done various swaps using a truck pcm in a car with no issues

Spoolin- I went with the 80e and would never look back. I bought it used for $350 then had it built by a local builder with a total price that is cheaper than most built 60's that I've seen.

i dont run a turbo, but a procharger-i ran a 400 orig., but switched to a 4l80e,
i rebuilt it myself, trying to save money(remember that one) i orig made it man. shift, but lack of pressure and shifting thru 3 gears every stop got old
i bought another trans and switched v/b's, used an hd-2 kit, and a compushift
controler, (non comp. car) love the o/d and lockup
didnt really see a diff in et's, but those things are heavy, lol

My 80e is completely stock. I have a tranny cooler and 3000 stall. It has held up to almost 3 years of daily driving (about 100k) and some track time. Race weight is 4600 lbs with driver. A fully built 60e can't do what the stock 80e has done. A friend dropped the pan and changed the filter and fluid about 6 weeks ago. We were amazed at how clean the pan and filter were. There was no clutch material in the pan and the filter looked like it was new.

4L80 tune is no longer required as long as you have a 4L60 tune.
