Great build!!!

I believe BRP was developing 1 7/8 primary headers for 3rd gens although their collectors are not traditional. They claim they have better ground clearance which I'm waiting to hear more about.

I'm running the Hawks 1 3/4's with 3 inch collectors and the collectors hang lower than the bottom chassis of the car and scrap over bumps. Keep us updated.

^ Those headers are definetly different.....

I'd go with a set of Hawk's headers. I guarantee it picks up at least 50hp.

Would also guess you have Tip In and TCS turned off. The TCS tables a good to control out of the hole wheelspin via torque limiting (well at least until we get better rubber ).

There is a table in the trans that controls per gear torque limits. Stock it is ~900lb/ft. If you are putting out 500+ at the engine at lower rpm and using first at 4:1, and hooking up well, you could be easily getting past this. Havent seen this table in HPT though. Am sure you could bend their arm to include it.

Plenty of time through the winter to get it right no doubt.

Hi Ian,

My car has a 4L70E in it, not the 6L80. My truck has the LS2/6L80.

My LS9/6L90 combo isn't installed in anything yet.

So yea, it's a T42 table I need to find.

I've always had low ground clearance even without headers!

At this point I'm leaning towards the Hawks!

The whole time reading through the thread dispite all the awesome ls9ness I was thinking "are those stock manifolds?" Then I got to page 5 and found out yes. Headers will be a huge help with this monster. What are you doing for a y-pipe? BTW awesome work with this thing. I want to hear it run

I dunno; here's what I'm running now (02 Camaro LS1 manifolds) vs. the stock ones on the LS7/LS9:

As far as the rest of a stock ZR1 exhaust system goes, I don't know the pipe sizes but it is true duals vs. my Y-pipe.

I'm running a 4th Gen off road Y-pipe modified to fit the 3rd Gen chassis.

Wow that Camaro has been quite impressive from day one. I look forward to seeing what more you can do with it.

Those should help uncork it a little!

They really look nice. I should have done this a long time ago!

Yea you should of!!! I bought them when I got my car, they are a very nice set, they fit great too.

CyberGrey Z28: Nice car! I have ground clearance issues too, I think im going to put the stock springs on my car, the 1" lowering springs dont get along with my 9" rear.

Nothing new yet.

The car is on the lift, but haven't had a chance to put the headers on yet. Soon!!
