Turbo is back in and compession check showed pretty even across all cylinders. Sparkplugs looked a little rich but not bad at all. Started it up yesterday and my wideband is reading 18-19. :o Everything sounds fine and I still have a massive backfire on decel, thinking since its warmer here now than the first time I drove it the air isnt as dense and its messing up something. Im thinking the backfire is just because I have a foot of downpipe also.

Ok guys check it out. Apparently one of the big things that causes afterfires like I have is a rich condition coupled with an exhaust leaks which supply the gasoline the necessary oxygen to ignite. When you decel it reverts a little air in through the tail pipe or in my case.....the o2 bung. I had capped both of them off but apparently one had vibrated out or something. Im pretty sure the exhaust leak was throwing off my afr too because it is sitting at about 13ish when cold(I had an oil feed line leak and spray on the headers so Im slowly burning it off) and I expect it to be around 14-15 at idle when warm. Also the exhaust leak explains why I was having boost issues moments before the afterfires started happening.

So happy right now...

Didn't I say this about Brads car on the exhaust leak too. It's amazing what the small things can do. By the way... How was Hawaii?

Thats funny! The same exact thing happened to me. The passenger side o2 plug vibrated out on mine and caused the backfires. It scared the hell out of me, thought i blew my junk up!

Having a problem overheating, Im hoping to solve that tomorrow when I put the turbo blanket back on. For some reason I think the turbo being an inch from the radiator is causing heat issues....

I had a problem with the pushers not cooling. I put on a 93 ford Taurus puller fan and it doesn't ever go over 186* no matter what kind of beating it takes.

I cant fit a puller fan due to the turbo position and the radiator being in the stock position. I might be able to fit one on the passenger side but even then thats a stretch.

Put on the blanket and I also found a bolt in the fan that may have stopped 1 from turning on. It held at 210 for a while but eventually started to overheat. I think I can fit a 12" puller on the passenger side. Im gonna make sure I dont have an air pocket in my coolant system first.

I have the same kit. I put in a griffin and installed that fan and I have no worries now.

I ended up taking the stock fans and hacking them in half and putting the passenger side one back on and using a pusher on the driver's side. Seems to work ok...might be a good alternative for ya.

Do you have a pic of your set up with the fan? I was wondering how much clearance with the Griffin you have.

I can't remember off hand, but I think it's like 4 1/4" thick
