Large frame turbo guys step in please.
I recently picked up a large frame t6 garret turbo, still having trouble finding out what its from or what model it is.
Here are some measurements
Exhaust housing outlet is 5" in diameter and the wheel is 88mm
Intake housing is 5" inlet with a 74mm wheel
a/r on the exhaust side is 1.34
no numbers on the intake side but I think it is .60 a/r it flares out to a v band flange that is 3"
These are rough measurements since I dont have a micrometer.
I just wanted to know if the 1.34 a/r on the exhaust is going to be too large for a stock cube motor that spins to 7500-8000rpm, car will be drag only with a th400 w transbrake, a large converter and live only at high rpm, looking to push around 20psi max at the track with race fuel.
Here are a few pics
I know that there is small cube drag only guys that push these size turbos without problem, I really hope more pros chime in here, like Veee8, Fireball, Phil99vette, Virginia Speed, ect.
Motor specs are weisco pistons 9.0:1 comp
compstar rods
compstar stock stroke forged crank
afr225 heads
victor jr intake with 90 elbow and 90mm t body
custom grind cam
I would like to see full boost from 5k to 8k while I go down the track, rear end will be 3.25 or 3.50 gears.
Turbo looks similar to this one, http://www.atpturbo.com/mm5/merchant...egory_Code=GLF

These are the only numbers I find
a/r 1.34
m1
B? It’s a blob but it looks like a B
Then it says Garrett
Then on the flange it says 0k18
And on the other side of the flange it says b1298 and b097
a/r 1.34

That's a TMF55 from a 60 series Detroit Diesel. Nice durable turbo, but not the greatest for performance use. It cannot be reclocked, the exhaust only fits one way due to the offset bolt pattern. And there are no other exhaust housings available for it. It's really a one of a kind turbo.
