Theres no actual highest boost level that it will withstand as it varies on the motor. I would stay under 10 pounds although some have gone higher. Some guys run 5-8 psi on a safe tune and seem to last. others blow it real quick.

Man if this is on a stock bottom end you have one hell of a tuner. And how long have this set up been on the car. Also how much do you get into boost.

I stretched the stock rod bolts at about 17 psi. All the good tuning in the world wouldn't have helped that. It ran 6.24 @ 112 in the 1/8th on that pass.

Well how deep are your pockets ,meaning if you blow the stock engine can you afford to buy new one or the downtime on the car?

The aps kit was set up for basically stock motor and comes at 7.5psi. My advice is leave it there. If you drop compression with some 317 heads then maybe a few more pounds. But stock ringlands are fragile ,seen many blow to hell ,not my car as I didn't run my aps kit on stock engine. But mistakes on sts cars, ati cars.

So don't be greedy. Run stock springs,7.5 psi. Run intank pump like racetronix ,60 pound injectors ,stock lines are fine at stock reg and rails. Be conservative on tune, timing especially. You can run alc injection for extra safety, 50/50 stuff or 100% meth your choice.Make sure you monitor things carefully ,handy to have incar monitoring of stuff ,my interceptor gauges work great as don't want to have laptop with me 24/7.
Put in better valve springs into the stock motor right away. And thats about it.

These guys telling you they run 18psi on stock engines are same guys that would play Russian Roulette. Local guy has sts on stock engine. He has ran 5psi for few years. No problems. Its not so much the psi though as the airflow. But 7.5psi on the aps kits should be ok on stock motor. Be more worried about the turbos dying then the engine at 7.5 psi if things are tuned right.

I tune it myself. It is a stock bottom end. It's only been about 5k miles. It sees full boost pretty much every time I take it out.

10 pounds or less on a conservataive tune will be preety solid. Anyhting higher and you are for sure on borrowed time. One of my buddies is running 12 pounds on his SS and running 10s. So far so good. But he knows its just a matter of time before Boom!

so basically its kinda of up to me but most suggestions tend to lean toward below 10 lbs... i think i will take the advice of MY99TAWS6 and just leave stock springs in right now and then down the road change it. id never run 18psi on a stock bottom end thats crazy.

A big one for a stock short/longblock. 240+ duration, .600+ lift.

The car has stock heads, 218/228 cam, 1 7/8 headers, hi-flo cats, and a stock catback.
