Looking for resources for A2W intercooling

I've noticed that the intercoolers themselves can vary greatly in price depending on the manufacturer. Given the same size intercooler is there a big difference in efficiency or quality? If so, who makes good A2W intercoolers? Looking at something in the 1200 hp area.
Also, if I was inclined to build my own intercooler, who sells cores?

There is really very little reason to go with air to water unless you are doing a track only trailer car. All you need to keep things nice and cool is to run a good quality efficient air to air , run meth injection and if you want even more for 1/4 mile run small shots of nitrous ,you can spray on the intercooler but its more effective into the engine.
Many guys running really fast 1/4 only run meth injection and don't bother with intercoolers at all. They are more for things like road racing and street driving not a lot of time for them to work that great in a 1/8 or even 1/8 mile racing.

I had looked into those but I liked the welds better at frozen when I got mine. I would say think about the material used and remember cheaper isn't always better especially if you have a set-up that you would need a 1200hp kit. Seeing as though the cores are on the inside if the outside looks sketchy then what would that say about the inside. But it maybe different now so if you want it try it.

$469! Wow.... I wish I would've seen that before I bought a Chiseled Performance (CP) unit.
I know the CP unit is better quality... but I wonder how much more efficient it really is?
For those of you that are running the Frozenboost setup... what time of ets/mph are you achieving?

with mine I was in the mid hundreds now I stay depending on the day between 70-90's no meth (but I am still gonna get it). I sometime get into the low 100's after driving forever and playing around
but I am getting my tranny built and a stall made so I will be able to get some ets and etc when I get all this stuff finished. But Mighty Mouse has been running a W2A set up for a good while now I am sure he will chime in at some point in time but try searching for him in here and I am sure something will pop up.

Most of these intercoolers from CX racing, frozenboost, Ebay are knock offs of name brand ones. I have been using one from CX racing and it has been working great. The cores look very close to the quality of cores that cost 3 times as much.
They are cheaper because, they are made in India and China were wages are less than a dollar an hour. Something to think about. They are also making large quantity at a time were it puts the price down. The name brand ones are made here in the US were wages and materials just cost more.

alot of people use BELL Cores and i think Precision makes there own Cores also..... ALOT of people.... I went overkill with my A2W but its rare that i think most people can.. I can pull on the starting line under 50degrees and gain less then 10 degrees going down track with the pump off.... when its 100 outside

Just remember guys that you get what you paid for. It may be hard as hell to get a hold of the guys at chiseled but they make good stuff. Their prices reflect that! Once thing to consider though is that going with an intercooler that is cheaper isn't always the best route. You're talking about an air/water intercooler. If you get a junk one and it leaks you not only have a boost leak problem like you would an air/air intercooler but if it leaks from the core and lets water in then you've got a hell of a problem. You just boosted your engine with water and we all know that engines don't burn water so they hydraulic and barf the rods out the side or bottom of the block! I don't know everything and have never claimed to but I know that some things shouldn't be skimped on. A lot of people may never have problems but there's always that one instance. Just my humble .01
