Thats ok. Shipping this out of state isnt really an option. This isnt an all out race application and im not going to spend 1k+ on coatings. Thanks for the offer but its not in the cards.

PolyDyn FTW!!! OP, not for you as its here in Houston, TX but there all i ever use. if you cant find a decent coating up there just wrap em. I use the exact same wrap at work but in huge sheets, we wrap the parts we weld to keep em hot. Wrap works very very well, despite what some people think.

How much of an external temp. difference is there between the Swaintech coating vs. wrapping? I had uncoated headers on my old 70 C-10 project and after wrapping them, it seemed like it was almost as cool under the hood as it was outside. However the wrap doesn't like oil or trans fluid spilled on it. That tends to cause a nice fire.

The header wrap reduces temps more than any of the coatings but I don't think it will last on the red hot bits, like the first 6" of your header or the main part of a log. The ceramic will. Ceramicoat grey or black is rated up to 1800 and is available almost anyplace that does powdercoating or plating. I used the grey and it still looks new.
