if you weld the tensioner bolt to the pad, you won't be able to rotate the bolt, right?
i guess running the belt over the pulley is one way of getting it to work.
now as for tension on the belt, i thought that cog belts don't need much , so wouldnt pushing the tensioner ito place bu hand or small screw driver then tightening it be sufficient enough when it comes to tension on the belt?

DAMN YOU DIRTY lol, I didn't even think of that As for the tension question I have no idea since this is the first set of cogs I've ever been around so I am in the dark when it comes to "just the right tension for the belt." I was thinking it might be a little to loose, because at idle it was "whipping" up and down between the crank cog and the supercharger cog(longest distance of belt) but it wasn't smacking into anything like the tranny lines that are just above it or one of the stand offs. I am just not use to seeing the belt move that much. It does have about an inch of freeplay up or down. I will get it to the dyno first thing tomorrow to have him take a look at everything too, he does a lot of mustang set ups and should be able to get me pointed in the right direction.
Bos if you talk to the Sirokas ask them what they think is good for the tension of a cog belt.

Hopefully this week if the tune looks good on the ol EFIlive and some good gas in it. I have had this same tank of 91 octane for about 2months already lol. I haven't driven her at all with all these cog set backs. I will let you know when though.

Jeremy what did you do to get the HKS blow off valve to work, I originally bought one to use on my setup and my local shop said that it wouldn't work with the setup.....
Can you give me some details on what exactly was done......I might sell the ATI race ready for one of those.........

Bos I will PM you the details on the HKS.....
Went to the shop to see if I need to tension the belt a little more and they told me just a bit more so we did it and took it out for a spin. Much less belt flap
PNYKILR and I got it on the freeway and it hit 14psi with ease, wayyyy before redline.... We don't know how much boost this set up will put down, but the 14psi was almost instant when I rolled into it at about 60mph. I didn't get a good read on the RPMs but it was about 4800-5200rpm. Me and Neal heard a funny noise kinda moaning rubbing sound? So on the return pass I got into it slowly and the boost went up to 12psi and we heard the noise again so I let off the gas and we headed back to the house. When we popped the hood we saw what the problem was, the stock accessory belt was half way on the all the pulleys so we put it back on where it should be. Neal noticed that the cog belt was touching the idler pulley that is right above the ATI tensioner. When getting on the gas, the cog belt and the idler pulley probably touched and made the moaning sound and caused the stock accessory belt to almost come off due to the idler being slowed down by the rubbing of the cog belt on it. This looks like it will be an easy fix though, add one more washer to each standoff for a total of 3 per standoff. This should space it just about right and cause the cog belt to run more on the crank cog too. When adding the washers, I will need to add the stock ATI s/c spacer under the s/c cog to make it come foward toward the firewall. The cog belt then should run near the center of both cogs.
Here are two pics to get an idea of how its all lined up
as you can see in the pics the belt is right on the outer edge of the s/c cog, and the inner edge of the crank cog. The 1 extra washer per standoff should get it all in line and get the cog belt away from the stock idler. Guess thats tomorrows project. I wouldn't be having the belt rubbing issues if the tensioner was being used like ATI intended with the tensioner pushing down on the belt, but there is simply no room with the LS1idler being in the way. Lee@ASP is working on finding a longer belt than the 960 and will let me know what he comes up with if he finds one or has em made up then we all can run the tensioner the way ATI had it.
But I think Neal(PNYKILR) and I agree when everything is right that I will push 15-16+psi with these cogs
Sorry for the long post but just thought I would add some good testing of these cogs in for yous guys.

That moaning sound I had before I put my bracket support on, it was tearing up my belt too because they would rub....the blower pulley and the alternator pulley would rub together.....
Seeing 14psi at around 5200rpms, you should peak around 16 for sure, thats good for that altitude as well.....I wonder what will happen at sea level....

Yea, we will see what happens......
I hope the twin 340's and the 57's can hold up..........I plan on an intercooler in the near future, and a cam swap in the fall.....we are going to dyno first with the 42.5's to see where they will go, but I doubt far.....
Looks like I better start saving for F.A.S.T.
I just hope this current combo with my baby nuts cam can produce 600rwhp.....

I will be check that tomorrow Bos, thanks for reminding me. Should show up on the S/C cog and alternator pulley real clear if they did hit. Where did you get that bracket support from?
Yep My Bro Eric has it right 5600-5700ft and higher at the track

We will get a video camera in the car next time to see where the boost/rpms are at when getting into throttle. I might be off on the rpms, but wasn't off on the boost. We both had our eyes on the boost gauge to see where it would go, glad the freeway was clear
PS Sorry if you guys are having a hard time deciphering my jibberish in these posts, I am excited that things are moving forward and at the amount of boost we saw today. And I am tired, I have a 1 year old lil boy who doesn't like to sleep, we have to be up every hour to feed him
