Default LSX 427ci Turbo?

I'm having Billy Briggs build me a Hydro roller 427ci, to run on pump gas. My question is, what size turbo should I be looking at. I found a 106mm almost new. But is that too big?

Depends on how much power you are looking to make. Street or strip or both?
I am using a 94mm with my 427. That will be plenty for me for now.

Matt, you pick up the 106, I will loan you my GT47-88, I will test the 106 for a while, then when you are ready I will upgrade and you can put the 106 on. Sound like a plan?

Yah, depends on your goal and intended use of the car!

106mm is over for street use and daily driver but works good for drag race 427ci LSX car with right setup.

You serious? lol

I'm not totally against that. Just wondering if an 88mm will be big enough on those cubes...?
Also, keep in mind. A 4,000.00 turbo is not cheap. I'd like to use it from new.

Don't really care about power goals... I'd like to go 8.50s-8.70s on pump gas.
The car will still be driven on the street... just not more than 2 a week...

Think of it as a training turbo.....that 88 would spool very fast with 427 cubes.
Are you stateside yet?

The 88 seems to work fine on Veee8's car. The 427 will spool it the turbo a little easier. 8.50-8.70's on pump gas? You plan on using methanol? I mean I plan on using pump gas as well, I am going to pump it out of my 55 gallon drum of race fuel into my tank. LOL!

427 + 106 is good enough for deep into the 7s @ 190+. Street car I'd go with somethign alittle smaller, something in the 90s.

106 is big for the street, I think the GT4788 or a PT91 would be better. A GT55 91mm or 94mm would be nice too.

GT5018......Nothing more then a GT55 back half with a GT47 front half.....perfect unit for the bigger cube LS based motors that intend on pulling street duty. Also can be built in a mid-frame package or full frame thumper.

Same size on the compressor...turbine housing is just a little larger.

I like the idea of the 5018. Turbine big enough not to choke out up top, but a smaller compressor thats better on the street.

You made the right choice getting that setup. Even if you don't use it, you could use everything else that comes with it! 106mm would be sickly. You will be very happy with Billy building your motor
