Default Worth it to stroke LS1?

Im starting to think a little way ahead to next winter, I want to pull my stock internalled LS1 and replace it with forged pistons so I can turn up the boost. While Im doing this Im thinking of getting some more cubes out of it. Would it be worth it to stroke out it out to a 383 or bigger(not sure how big I can go)? The other option was to get an ls2 or lq4 block and building it up a 402. Or should I just replace the pistons and rods in the Ls1?

Pistons and rods and be done. More cubes will require more turbo to go faster. Which needs more fuel system. Ect Ect. It's a snowball waiting to happen. As if you dont get enough of that up there in the north pole already.

Lol, Im pretty sure weve gotten the least amount of snow of any northern state in the country this year, atleast in Anchorage!

Im thinking forged internals, then trade up to a t76 or 78 turbo. I still need to find out when this turbo will run out of steam, RPM wise.

I agree with Cobrakiller. Keep the LS1 and forge it and turn up the wick to 15lbs or so.

it has new bearings/rings all around. setup by a circle track guy and still working on getting a custom cam. Builder said he wouldnt hesitate to take it to 8k no problem, and 8500 is even doable. Said over 8500 i'm probably pushing it.

I believe right now its like a 312 CID.

My thinking behind this is, how do honda guys make such big power and still retail decent drivability when not in boost?

Than I got talking to a member on TTF, he has a 4.8 with a big cam and a T88, doesnt spool until around 4500, but he said it drives like stock until it spools.

So, pretty much pick up a 4.8, add pistons get it bored, you have a 312 that'll rev to the moon.

also running a vic. jr and a 4150 style TB, so feeding the air at that high of an RPM shouldnt be limited like with an LS6, etc style intake.

reamo04, what did you do to your valve train to make it sustain these high rpms?

dont have it done yet. Probably going Ti valves, retainers, and unsure of valve springs yet as I dont have a cam 100% picked out yet.

I am not really even sure how high I will end up spinning it. More than likely I'll be shifting at about 7500. He just told me what I can rev it to.

Right now, I am talking to a place about a custom 23x/24x turbo grind, which in my little motor should be plenty.

Only thing I am concerned with, is it is also going to see street duty. If I decide to make it a track-based car I am thinking of going solid roller.

You might want to double check. The 4.8 def has a shorter stroke.
