Default sts turbo and heads HELP!!

Hi, I'm gonna install a sts turbo on my car, currently i have patriot stage two heads on my car. I was wondering would the increase of the compression from 10.1 to 10.5 increase the chances of me blowing up my engine? also only gonna run 6psi max.
Head specs
Combustion Chamber: 64cc
Intake Runner: 227cc
Exhaust Runner: 70cc
Intake Valve: 2.02"
Exhaust Valve: 1.57"
Max. Valve Spring Lift: 0.650"
Spring Pressure Closed: 135 lbs. @ 1.800"
Spring Pressure Open: 375 lbs. @ 1.090"
Retainer Material: Titanium
Valve Seal Material: Viton
Valve Guide Material: Manganese Bronze
Valve Job: 5-angle

I don't see you having any problems. Stock LS2/LS3 engines have more compression than that and do quite well at 8 psi of boost. Check this one out. http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com...Car.php?car=59

The increase in compression will help the rear mount to spool. Wrapping your entire exhaust system ahead of the turbo with header/exhaust wrap will help the turbo to spool sooner too. Bob

running lower compression for higher boost is kind of miss leading... Rather, pick a HP goal, and run as high compression as you can to achieve that number without detonating. That being said, you should be okay at 6psi. But the tune will be key

There is a twin turbo stock LS6 making 700rwhp @13lbs running a very conservative tune that has lasted multiple race seasons. When I mean stock I mean never had a valve cover off. He runs methanol injection, very conservative timing and a AFR in the 10.5 range.

Not recommending you shoot for 700rwhp but just an example of 10.5 compression and forced induction being compatible.

elias 799 I know the guy with the stock LS6 and if I didn't see it for myself I wouldn't have believed it. He runs his car on dyno days, races through out the season, I'm amazed.

i have also seen people floating valve springs at 8 psi on 10.25:1 CR

so you tell me how this guy is boosting his 10.25:1 CR motor at 13 psi and not floating anything

did you see the stock springs with your own eyes ?

No because he's never had the valve covers off, as far as floating the valves, I ran a cam with .561 lift and 12lbs and never floated my LS6 springs.

Believe what you want.
