I wish you had HP Tuners, we could turn off your o2s completely and see what it does in OL.

When you remove the o2 it is only reading the fresh oxygen content, not the exhaust mixed with oxygen. Which can affect the tune. I'm surprised the hp tuners didn't catch anything with them. Are they the originals?

That second list of numbers are more to my likeing.

When I say I removed the O2, I unplugged them completely from the harness. I didn't want the computer getting a reading from straight air under the car and skewing things, so I just unplugged them altogether.

They are the original, 80,000 mile O2s.

Xtreme. You must not know about tech 2's. It's what the dealers use and can do everything and more then hptuners or efilive. I can control or lock the rear steering on the denali pickups among other things.

It is possible that they are getting old and slower to react. I like to replace mine at 50,000 just because.
When it was unplugged the pcm will still be looking for readings and won't beable to find it.
Also it will take a handfull of key cycles for the pcm to learn things again. But the commanded values are locked in.

So what do you guys think...should I replace them? The longer Corvette O2s are about $63 each. I really hate to throw money at problems, but it seems like there's definitely a correlation between these O2s and the surging.

I'd like to let the tech 2 read them.
I just remembered. I have a brand new set of rear o2 simulators also if someone needs them. I got them from speed Inc and ended up not ever using them.

I'm around tomorrow afternoon, but not sure what you have planned. Going to an Easter service at 10:45, but after that I have no plans.

Im aware of what a tech 2 is capable of. I was saying if he had HP Tuners he could pull his tune and send it over so one of us can remove his o2s out of the tune completely without ever leaving the computer.

You must have missed. I'm just up the street. Like 2 minutes away. So why send it. I got busy on my own junk and had someone come over to look at my 74 camaro I'm selling.

Q. Let me know. I can make time for that before I go to town. Are your headers coated? Do you have a grinder?
I have to start putting a fast classic into a 94 hawk for a friend.

Hey guys ... I'll admit I haven't read all of the posts on this. Looking at the first page I thought of a simple thing that popped up when helping a friend with his car. Did you ensure that the MAF is installed with the flow of air through the MAF in the correct direction? Otherwise the MAF doesn't read the airflow properly and causes all sorts of issues. It is something quick to check if you haven't already done this.

Later ... Larry S.

Yeah, the MAF is definitely installed pointing the right direction. I've even tried multiple MAFs.

What time are you headed to Anchorage today? The headers are coated, but the Y pipe isn't and there's plenty of room before the cat on the driver's side there. I don't have a grinder, but I do have an air compressor and I could probably get one in a pinch.

After we do your car. I was just thinking what else I should bring. I have a grinder so no big deal.

I'm at the house now, if you still have time. I don't want to hold up your plans or anything, so if you need to jet, no big deal. The grinder and welder should be everything I need to do the job. The wideband is all I have left to install before I can get on to serious tuning.

Shoot me a PM if you still have time, and I'll get you the directions to my place.

We got the wideband bung welded in and hooked up, and plugged the stock O2s back in. Car is back to running like *** again. I'm off to get new O2s tomorrow...this just can't be a coincidence.
