Glide or TH400?
sold a 4l60e, looking at a glide or th400. I have a glide laying around, but it needs rebuild and is all stock right now. I do not have a converter for either one.
Car is a 312 CID tc78 going to be pushing about 20PSI. Going for 700 at the wheels.
It is a *some what* street car, as it will be driven on the street to the track and back, and every now and than to a cruise night (10 miles each way at most)
Car has 3.00 rear gears. on a 26" tire currently, may go up to a 28 later still unsure.
Cam is a 216/214 113+2 so power comes on pretty early and still revs kinda high.

3rd gear in a th400 and 2nd gear in a glide are both 1:1, so they will run the same rpm in top gear...
basically it comes down to the weight of the vehicle...if youre over 3100lbs, go with the th400

Wth smaller engine, you should consider a well built TH350. They are typically .1-.2 faster than 400 version, much lighter guts. With "only" 700 hp, you are in a good range for the 350. Converter for 350 & 400 are interchangable.
